Josh Duggar’s Wife, Anna, Just Got Political on Her Instagram Post of Her Baby, Maryella
The Duggars are still on TLC via Counting On, but we can’t forget the family has gone through some serious controversy over the years. And Josh Duggar remains the most infamous of Jim Bob and Michelle’s 19 kids. Back in 2015, the media revealed Josh Duggar sexually molested underage girls, a few of whom were his sisters. And the oldest Duggar child has been unable to bounce back from the backlash.
Despite the reports, his wife, Anna Duggar, stuck by his side. And she still shares very personal information via her public Instagram profile. In mid-February 2020, she even got political with an Instagram post featuring her sixth child, Maryella. Here’s what Anna posted.
Anna Duggar’s marriage is under constant scrutiny because of Josh Duggar’s past
Anna Duggar hasn’t had the easiest marriage. While Josh’s sexual abuse scandal was made public for all to hear, that’s not his only wrongdoing. He also confessed to cheating on Anna, as he had accounts with the infidelity website Ashley Madison and a pornography addiction.
Josh went to counseling and rehabilitation to deal with the issues, and he was able to save his marriage to Anna. And the couple even made a public statement regarding their efforts to rebuild their relationship.
“For nearly the last two years, we have quietly worked to save our marriage, focus on our children, and rebuild our lives together as a family,” they announced on the Duggar Family website in 2017. “Doing so is never easy after a breach of trust. We’ve learned that a life of faith and rebuilding a life together is simply done one day at a time.”
While Josh and Anna have clearly worked on their relationship, many remain skeptical. We know the Duggars don’t believe in divorce, so we may never know if these two are truly happy together.
Anna’s already getting her kids involved in political action
We’ll see Josh occasionally crop up on Anna’s Instagram. But those who follower her on social media are likely to see the couple’s kids. Back in November 2019, Anna gave birth to her sixth child, Maryella. And we’ve seen plenty of Josh and Anna’s children on her Instagram — including the baby — ever since.
It seems Anna doesn’t shy away from political statements, either. We know Jim Bob was a Republican member of the Arkansas House of Representatives. And Jed Duggar is also getting into politics. As for Anna, she attended a pro-life rally in January 2020. And she had her kids hold up anti-abortion signs.
“What an encouragement to see many of all ages taking a peaceful and prayerful stand to speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves,” Anna captioned her Instagram post. “What a gift each precious life is!”
Many of her followers weren’t pleased, though.
“Women should be lifting other women up and supporting their right to choose what happens in their own bodies,” a follower commented. “If a person is not right for you, that is fine and we all respect it. But please stop trying to set us all back by trying to get the law to dictate what other women choose to do with their own bodies.”

It looks like Anna is coming back strong with the political posts. On Feb. 16, she added a post featuring photos of Maryella, her and Josh with Maryella, and other indicators that they were at the Daytona 500. And it was reported that President Donald Trump was making a lap in the presidential limo at the event as well.
“Can anyone guess where we’ve been?!?!” Anna captioned her post. She then added the hashtags, “#littleduggars #Maryella #Duggar #MAGA #AirforceOne.”‘
The addition of “#MAGA” is enough to clue followers in that Anna and Josh are definitely still Republicans. And Anna’s followers are also showing their support. As one follower wrote in solidarity, “Awesome! #MAGA!! #Trump2020,” along with a heart and American flag emoji.
As the election draws nearer, we’ll have to see if we spy even more political content from Anna.
