Joy-Anna Duggar Joins Duggar Family Trip to California, Proves She’s Not Snubbing Them After Josh Duggar’s Trial
The Duggar family recently took a trip out to California to visit Jinger Duggar, and family followers noticed. Jinger wasn’t present for Josh Duggar’s trial or guilty verdict, and she also didn’t appear to visit her family in Arkansas for the holidays. But it’s clear Jinger is still on good terms with her siblings and parents. Additionally, a new photo shows Joy-Anna Duggar also joined the family on the California trip, proving she’s not snubbing them after the trial.
Jana Duggar, Michelle Duggar, and other Duggar family members flew out to California to visit Jinger Duggar
Josh Duggar’s trial reportedly put a divide between the Duggar family. According to an insider who spoke with In Touch, the family was “torn apart” by the findings at the trial. “[Michelle Duggar] and [Jim Bob Duggar] are trying to stay strong, praying for Josh, [Anna Duggar], and their grandkids,” the source said. “The family is rallying, but some of the kids can’t forgive their brother Josh for what he did. They’re horrified that he didn’t get help sooner.”
With that in mind, it seems some of the Duggar siblings are still sticking together. Jana Duggar, Jason Duggar, James Duggar, and Michelle Duggar flew to California in January 2022, In Touch reports. They went to visit Jinger Duggar’s family. Additionally, this outing came after Jana Duggar’s legal troubles regarding a child endangerment charge.
The Duggar Family Instagram didn’t create a post documenting their travels, nor did Jana’s Instagram. But James did. He posted a video of his siblings at the airport with the caption, “Hate the traveling process, but the reward at the end.”

Joy-Anna Duggar and her husband, Austin Forsyth, arrived for a few days of Josh Duggar’s trial. Once the guilty verdict was read, the couple’s statement was quite telling.
“Over this last year, as you can imagine, there have been a lot of unanswered questions in our minds regarding Josh,” their statement read on their Instagram Stories, according to People. “We were able to sit through the trial to hear the evidence for ourselves.”
“We agree with the judicial system’s verdict and we are thankful for the men and women who work tirelessly to protect children and help prevent child sexual abuse material. Our hearts break for all CSAM victims,” the statement finished.
In the wake of the trial, it looks like Joy-Anna decided to join the Duggar family visit to California. Reddit users posted a photo showing Joy with James, Jana, and Michelle. Another Reddit user confirmed Austin went on the trip as well. This seems to confirm that Joy-Anna still has a good relationship with her mother and siblings despite any possible rifts caused by the trial.

Many Duggar family followers thought Joy-Anna Duggar might distance herself from her family after Josh Duggar’s trial. But it seems Joy-Anna proved them wrong. A few Reddit users have insights into what may be going on with the family visit to see Jinger.
“I know that people like to think that this is some sort of Michelle rebellion against Jim Bob to go see her daughter, but I really do think that Jim Bob sent her there and actively encouraged her to ask Joy along so that the world could see through pictures that their daughters still have a good relationship with their parents,” a Reddit user suggested.
It’s unclear why Jim Bob Duggar didn’t attend the family trip. And it’s likely he’s home caring for the younger kids who still live with him and Michelle. Either way, it looks like the Duggars who did go to see Jinger are having a fantastic time.
