Joy-Anna Duggar of ‘Counting On’ Shares More Photos of Newborn Daughter
Cue the awws. Joy-Anna Duggar and her husband Austin Forsyth have shared more photos of their newborn daughter, and fans can’t handle the cuteness. The Counting On couple posted the new images to their Instagram accounts on August 27. In the posts, they also revealed their baby girl’s “elegant” name.
Joy-Anna Duggar gave birth August 21
Joy-Anna, 22, and Austin, 26, welcomed their second child on Friday, Aug. 21. She was born at 2:12 p.m., weighed 8 lbs, 5 oz, and was 19.5-inches long.
“She has the best personality, is easy going and loves to be held!” the happy mama shared on social media. “She has her nights and days mixed up, but honestly, I love it! Getting to spend that quiet, quality time with her through the night has been SO special!”
Dad Austin was equally excited. “We have been dreaming of this day,” he shared with fans on Instagram.
Joy-Anna and Austin show off their happy family of four
Joy-Anna and Austin waited a few days to reveal their daughter’s name. But in their latest posts, they announced that they’d settled on Evelyn Mae Forsyth.
“I wanted her name to be perfect and elegant!” Joy-Anna wrote. She also explained that it took her and Austin a few days to pick the perfect moniker for their bundle of joy.
Both parents shared several new photos of the newest addition to their family. In one, Joy-Anna stands next to Austin, who is holding Evelyn. Son Gideon, 2, stands in front of his mom and dad and baby sister, and he looks very excited to be a big brother. In another, Austin touches noses with his infant daughter.
The new photos triggered a collective squeal among Counting On fans. “These are the sweetest pics!” one person commented on Joy-Anna’s post. “Oh my goodness! So sweet! Gideon is adorable too!” another commented on Austin’s update.
Joy after sadness for the Forsyth family
The birth of Evelyn Mae was a happy moment for the Forsyth family that came just over a year after a devastating loss. Last year, Joy-Anna announced that she was pregnant. But in July 2019, she revealed that she had lost that baby, who she and Austin named Annabell, at 20 weeks.
“We only had her for 20 weeks, Life is fragile and precious,” Joy-Anna wrote on Instagram shortly after her miscarriage. “So thankful the Lord gave her to us for that short time! She will be in our hearts forever!”
In March, roughly nine months after her miscarriage, Joy-Anna revealed that she was expecting a rainbow baby.
“I’m pretty nervous about raising a girl,” Austin admitted in a video for TLC. “They are going to take a little more work than the boys. I feel like Gideon, he’s tough and he’ll eat anything, but I feel like a girl, we’re going to have to pamper a little bit more. But I am so excited.”
“I feel like my heart is just going to melt the first time I meet her,” Joy-Anna said.
