1. Julia Fox is an actor best known for starring in ‘Uncut Gems’
Kanye West’s new romantic interest is in the entertainment industry, just like he is. But instead of being a musician, Fox is an actor best known for her starring role in the 2019 Adam Sandler comedy-crime drama movie Uncut Gems.
Fox’s performance in Uncut Gems earned her a nomination for the Breakthrough Actor Award at the 2019 Gotham Awards, as well as nominations from the Chicago, Toronto, Columbus, and Georgia Film Critics Associations.
2. Julia Fox is married and has a child
In 2018, Fox married Peter Artemiev, a private pilot based out of Brighton Beach, Brooklyn. And in February 2021, Fox announced the birth of her son.
Although there have been rumors over the years that Fox and her husband separated, she is still legally married to the pilot. Her date with Kanye West certainly has fans speculating about Fox’s relationship with Artemiev.
According to Page Six, the actor slammed her husband on social media just before Christmas 2021. In a two-day rant on her Instagram Stories, Fox accused Artemiev of being a “dead beat alcoholic drug addict dad.”
She also wrote, “I can’t even do it anymore. I just don’t want my son f***ed up cuz he feels like his dad was absent or loved alcohol and partying more than him.”
Artemiev responded to Fox’s claims in a statement to Page Six, saying, “I was saddened to learn of the utterly false statements made on social media by Julia Fox, my co-parent, who is clearly struggling. Out of respect for her privacy and to protect our child, I will not comment further.”
3. The ‘Uncut Gems’ star used to be a sex worker
In a December 2019 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Fox opened up about some of the jobs she worked before trying her hand at acting.
She said, “I worked at a shoe store on 86th Street called Orva, in the hosiery department because nobody went there. That’s where they put me because I was too incapable of doing anything. Then I worked in an ice cream shop and a pastry shop. Then I got into the sex industry, doing S&M stuff.”
Fox said that she became a dominatrix while still in high school. “I heard about another girl who was doing it and that there was no sex or nudity. It was role-playing,” she explained.
4. The 31-year-old actor was born in Italy
Fox was born in Milan, Italy, on Feb. 2, 1990, making her 31 years old. Her mother is Italian, and her father is American. Fox spent much of her childhood living with her grandfather before moving to New York with her father at age six.
She attended City-As-School High School in the West Village of Manhattan, New York City.
