Jungkook is a talented artist, tennis player, and, of course, singer. With over seven years of creating music with RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, and V, Jungkook was hanging out with the other BTS members while still in high school. 

Here’s what we know about “the Golden Maknae” and his age when he debuted with BTS.

How old is BTS’ Jungkook?

He’s the “Golden Maknae” of BTS for a reason. Jungkook is the youngest member of this K-pop group, acting as a singer, dancer, and songwriter. According to AllKPop, Jungkook helped produce “Magic Shop,” along with RM, Suga, and J-Hope.

The idol even helped to direct the BTS music video for “Life Goes On.” Jungkook was born on Sept. 1, 1997, making him about 5 years younger than the oldest member, Jin.

BTS debuted in 2013, making Jungkook about 15 years old at the time of the K-pop group’s debut. (He joined the management company, Big Hit Entertainment prior to BTS’ debut.)

After his time as a trainee with the other members, this singer debuted in BTS, balancing schoolwork and performing. When it came to his graduation, the other members went to support him.

During one video, Jungkook dressed in his yellow uniform, sharing that the BTS members and his family would be at his “entrance ceremony.” Jungkook reportedly even treated the other BTS members to dinner after the milestone, according to Hello K-Pop.

As of 2020, according to the South China Morning Post, the artist was currently working on his undergraduate degree from the Global Cyber University. It’s still unclear when this member will leave for his military service.

The BTS members celebrated Jungkook’s high school graduation 

During one interview on The Late Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the host asked what the BTS performers were like in high school. Because Jungkook is the youngest member, he shared that he was already rehearsing and working before he graduated. 

“All of us gathered for both my entrance and graduation ceremony because it was after our debut,” Jungkook said. Suga chimed in, saying, “I raised him up.” 

“I already debuted back then, so our members were always there with me throughout my high school years,” Jungkook continued. 

“I was in charge of his meals,” V said. Of course, since his debut with BTS, this artist gained recognition with fans worldwide for his talent. He’s even shared parts of solo songs and teasers for his upcoming mixtape.

The “Life Goes On” music video by BTS is now available for streaming on YouTube. The K-pop group’s deluxe album, titled Be, is available on Spotify, Apple Music, and most major streaming platforms.
