Why Was ‘Jungle Cruise’ Delayed Twice?
Children of all ages love to visit Disney World, watch Disney movies on Disney Plus, and be entertained by notable Disney characters. There have been some major setbacks for the theme park and movie releases during this time of uncertainty. However, now that Covid-19 is better known and the communities are doing their best to return to normal, the gates can open. This also means that Disney movie productions like Jungle Cruise can finally be released.
What is ‘Jungle Cruise’ about?
Jungle Cruise is a Disney fantasy adventure film that leads the search for the tree of life. Up against many dangerous creatures, a hot and humid environment, and another expedition, the race is to obtain the tree’s ability to aid in modern medicine. Starring Dwayne Johnson, Emily Blunt, Jack Whitehall, Jesse Plemons, and Paul Giamatti and directed by Jaume Collet-Serra from a story by Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, the film is sure to have enough action, humor, and love to please any Disney movie lover.
The movie is based on the Disney World attraction
The Jungle Cruise movie is actually based on the Disney World attraction of the same name, according to The Wrap. In a screenplay written by Michael Green, Glenn Ficarra, and John Requa, a 20th-century team searches for medical assistance guided by a reluctant steamboat captain. The movie itself has been conceived, scripted, and cast several times since 2004. Originally, Tom Hanks and Tim Allen were to star in the movie. However, the last round of adjustments started in 2015 when Johnson was cast as the lead.
Why was the ‘Jungle Cruise’ release delayed twice?
Since the long development of the movie was settled, the film continued to have setbacks. The original release date was in October 2019, but Disney pushed it back to July 2020, according to Metro. After the COVID-19 pandemic, the producers and Disney decided to push the date back another year to allow time for the communities to trust adventuring outside the home once again. Since the movie is loosely based on the theme park ride, the companies wanted the theme park to be open and the ride to be available for public use after the release of the movie.
The second release date was finally set for July 2021, which was made possible by the global openings of all the Disney theme parks. Though restrictions are still part of the visit for safety reasons, most attractions are now open for visitors. Plan ongoing for several days in a row if you desire to have autographs and pictures of certain characters, as they have limited character experiences. Disney is set to begin their 50th-anniversary celebration in October 2021 and is excited that the movie and ride will be available for the event.
