Kacey Musgraves Gets Her Mirror-Like Shine From a Pricey Hair Oil
If you don’t know who Kacey Musgraves is already, you definitely will soon. She’s the newest star of the country music scene, and she’s as known for her ultra-glam looks as she is for her beautiful voice and catchy tunes.
Like most other celebrities, Musgraves and her personal stylists put a lot of effort into making her look as beautiful as possible, especially for big events like music video shoots and red carpet appearances. It takes a lot of time and money to look as good as superstars do, and there’s one pricey hair product that Musgraves uses to get her locks to shine as brilliantly as they do.
Who is Kacey Musgraves?
Although Musgraves has been making music almost her entire life, it wasn’t until recently that the American public learned her name. Her first real public appearance in the country music scene was in 2007, when she placed fourth in the USA Network’s singing competition, Nashville Star. Although she didn’t win the competition, the show started to get her noticed, and she moved out to Nashville from her hometown in Texas to start taking her music career more seriously.
Musgraves has been a popular name in country music for several years now; she won several Academy of Country Music awards in 2013 and 2014. But country music is sort of a world on its own; Musgraves was a country music superstar, but she wasn’t very well known outside of that world until 2019, when she shocked everyone by winning a Grammy for Album of the Year in 2019. Now, she’s followed fellow country star Taylor Swift into entering the mainstream, and those who hadn’t heard of her before will surely become familiar with her name (and her music!) soon enough.
Musgraves goes for a ‘hyper-glamour’ look
Musgraves has often rocked a huge bouffant hairstyle, a look that her hairstylist Giovanni Delgado describes as “hyper-glamour.” He told Refinery 29, “Her vibe is definitely more of a ’70s, disco moment … It’s almost like she’s growing from the ’60s aesthetic she was in with her album Pageant Material.” The world has been treated to Musgraves’ glamorous look on many occasions, perhaps most memorably at the 2019 Met Gala, where she showed up as a literal real-life Barbie doll, complete with long blonde waves and a bright pink convertible “dream car,” as featured on Glamour.
Some of Musgraves and Delgado’s style inspiration when it comes to Musgraves’ big hair are country music legends like June Carter Cash, Priscilla Presley, Nancy Sinatra, Cher, and Dolly Parton, according to Delgado. He told Refinery29, “We like a lot of the vibes of some country musicians — Dolly always comes up.”
How does Musgraves get that super shiny hair?
Something that’s hard not to notice about Musgraves’ hair is not only that it’s huge, but that it’s super shiny – there must be a lot of teasing going on, but it doesn’t look frizzy at all. In fact, Delgado shared that her stylists refer to her hair as “black mirror” for how beautifully shiny it is.
Delgado revealed the product that helps the country music star achieve her super luscious locks: Oribe’s Gold Lust oil.
