Actor Kaley Cuoco has proven to be the epitome of a model citizen during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Even as she returns to working on set, she’s taking proper precautions and wearing a mask whenever possible. Here’s what she said to those who questioned her practices.

Cuoco grew up in film and TV. She starred in the sitcom 8 Simple Rules and recurred in the final season of the ’00s supernatural drama Charmed. But far and away, Cuoco is known for her leading role of Penny in the beloved CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory.

Despite her notable gigs before TBBT, Cuoco credits the series with her popularity and ability to choose whatever roles she wants now as an actor. “Big Bang was an unforgettable 12 years, I’ll owe my entire career to that show and getting me out there,” she told Entertainment Weekly in February 2020. “It’s set in my heart.”

She’s resumed filming on her series ‘The Flight Attendant’

In addition to voicing the lead in the DC Universe animated series Harley Quinn, Cuoco jumped right back into live-action small-screen work with her miniseries, The Flight Attendant. The actor is also a producer via her company Yes, Norman Productions on the program, which began shooting in late 2019.

Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Cuoco, who plays Cassie Bowden, and her The Flight Attendant cast and crew had to halt production on the project in March 2020. Using proper precautions, they resumed in August 2020, with the actor captioning the above Instagram post, “We’re back!! Keeping our distance of course!”

Cuoco even wears a mask while exercising

In addition to her work, Cuoco shows fans on social media other parts of her life. In September 2020, she posted a video of what she called “Jump It Out,” deeming the workout, “My newest obsession during COVID/quarantine! All you need is 20 mins, a jump rope, and good music.”

Several Instagram users told Cuoco that it’s “dangerous” to wear a mask while exercising. The actor replied, “I wear a mask when I’m in an enclosed space around others, which I was. I also wear a mask when I’m outside around others. I’m protecting myself and everyone around me. That’s why I choose to wear a mask.”

In order to resume production on films and shows, Hollywood has had to make adjustments. In another September 2020 post, Cuoco praised The Flight Attendant‘s “very structured quarantined environment,” adding that she’s “very proud of our cast and crew and everyone at Warner Bros. TV and HBO Max for making this possible.”

So what exactly does that entail? “Friends that get covid tested every few days, wear masks, take necessary pre-cautions, listen to production rules, wash hands all day long and respect the process together, get to act together,” Cuoco wrote in the post, tagging co-star Zosia Mamet.
