Why is Kaley Cuoco Hanging Out With Pete Davidson?
Kaley Cuoco and Pete Davidson are two celebrities from separate TV worlds. Cuoco is known for her lighthearted role in The Big Bang Theory and her powerful role in The Flight Attendant; Davidson is a Saturday Night Live cast member and comedian. So, what’s up with the two talented stars lately?
Cuoco has been broadcasting their newfound friendship on social media, but many viewers wonder why the two are spending this much time together.
Cuoco was just nominated for her first Emmy
“First time over here,” the actor and producer wrote on Instagram upon her Emmy nomination. In her post, Cuoco thanked her “entire flight crew” of The Flight Attendant with a video of her excited reaction.
After filming 12 memorable seasons of her breakout role as Penny in The Big Bang Theory, Cuoco had to figure out her next career move. She talked to Backstage about how her team encouraged her to prepare for the end of the CBS sitcom.
“It wasn’t like I had a million options,” the actor said. “[My team] know[s] I can get a little: ‘We’ll deal with it later! It’s gonna be fine!’ They were like, ‘it might not last for 30 years, even though it feels like it’s going to.'” The producer lovebug thus bit Cuoco, and she ventured off to her next project for HBO.
Although she initially wasn’t interested in producing, Cuoco came across a description on Amazon. “I read one sentence that said, ‘Fun-loving drunk flight attendant wakes up next to a dead body. How does she get home?'” Cuoco recalled. “I know this sounds cheesy AF, but I got this really wild-feeling chill. So I called my attorney and said, ‘Did Reese Witherspoon already get the rights to this book?'”
Cuoco and Davidson are hanging out for one reason
The two actors will star in the upcoming rom-com, Meet Cute; it looks like filming has already begun. Cuoco shared videos on her Instagram stories pranking Davidson on set. Playing “Let It Go” was one of Cuoco’s ways of “annoying Peter while he’s studying,” and she said that pranking him her “favorite pastime.”
The actors were later seen at the New Jersey Six Flags amusement park, according to TMZ. Cuoco shared a video of the two on her least favorite ride, the slingshot, in her Instagram story. The actor playfully wrote “I hate you so much” in two of her Instagram stories before they catapulted into the air. Cuoco’s next uploaded story showed the two on what appears to be the kid-friendly Air Jumbo, her “favorite ride.”
The only detail reported about the film is its plot. According to Deadline, the story revolves around what to do if traveling to a beloved’s past and can fix their issues and reform them into the ideal partner. Cuoco is said to portray Sheila, and Davidson will play Gary.
Pete Davidson is becoming more involved in movies
The Saturday Night Live star has risen to fame through various televised sketches. Although he became known for his “Weekend Update” presence, he has also starred in plenty of performances on the show. In February of 2021, Davidson portrayed New York Governor Andrew Cuomo in the show’s “Oops, You Did It Again” sketch. The comedian was applauded for his impersonation of Cuomo’s voice and attitude.
Aside from his comical on-stage performances, Davidson has made a name for himself in the movie industry. Although the King of Staten Island was not the first flick he starred in, the comedian provided the entire basis for the storyline. The movie is dedicated to Davidson’s father, who was a New York City firefighter. The actor commanded the film by performing alongside stars Marisa Tomei, Bill Burr, and Steve Buscemi.
