Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker Have a New Business Venture Named for an Important Family Member
Aside from being a member of the R&B group Xscape and a television personality on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Kandi Burruss is also known for being an entrepreneur with many businesses. She and her husband, Todd Tucker, have announced a new business venture that falls in line with their restaurant chain, Old Lady Gang.

Burruss and Tucker were going through a conflict during the twelfth season of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Burruss was away from home a lot as she was filming for her role in the third season of Showtime’s The Chi.
When she came home during the time when she wasn’t shooting the show, she often had a lot of work obligations and media appearances. This led to a strain in their relationship as Tucker believed that Burruss needed to spend more family time with him and the kids. The two even had a therapist come over to help them work through their problems.
Ahead of their baby show, which was the centerpiece of the season 12 finale, they were also at odds Tucker didn’t speak to Burrus’ mother, Mama Joyce, at a restaurant when they were all there. Despite all of this, while on stage speaking at the baby shower, Tucker apologized to Burrus for all that happened recently. Now, all seems well between the couple. It also seems that Tucker and Mama Joyce are also good now.
Tucker announced the new venture on his Instagram
In a post on Instagram, Tucker announced their latest venture, a restaurant called Blaze Steak & Seafood. It is named after their daughter. In the caption, he wrote, “I live in Southwest Atlanta and always asked why we don’t have certain restaurants in our area (Black Area). But I’m not asking any more [sic]! I will build what we want and what we need in our communities! They better not let me figure out how to build my own grocery store!”
He also posted a video on YouTube channel, Todd Tucker TV, detailing the behind-the-scenes process of opening Blaze. “This is southwest Atlanta. This is where the who’s who of Atlanta grew up, lived, came from, part of; they’re still a part of the neighborhood and part of the community,” he said in the video. “We’re part of the community, we live in the community, and it’s such a blessing to be able to open up something on this side of town. It’s gonna be dope.”
This is the couple’s second restaurant venture. They first opened Old Lady Gang and it now has three locations in Atlanta. One of the locations is even in the State Farm Arena. The opening of Blaze is likely to be featured in the upcoming season 13 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Burruss confirmed recently that the show’s new season has begun filming. It is a very strong possibility that Blaze will be featured in the show.
