Kanye West’s Attacks on Kim Kardashian Are Reminding Some Fans of How He Treated Ex-Girlfriend Amber Rose
In early 2021, Kim Kardashian West filed for divorce from Kanye West after seven years of marriage. However, in recent months, West has publicly talked about his disapproval of the divorce and attacked Kardashian West on social media.
West’s tirade has made headlines, and some fans are now comparing this situation to what transpired after his breakup with ex-girlfriend Amber Rose.
Kanye West has publicly called out Kim Kardashian West
In November 2021, West made it clear that he did not see their divorce as legitimate. According to West, God will reunite Kimye. He also shared on the podcast Drink Champs that he had “never even seen the [divorce] papers.”
In early February 2022, West took to Instagram to complain about his 8-year-old daughter, North, being on TikTok. He wrote in a now-deleted post, “SINCE THIS IS MY FIRST DIVORCE I NEED TO KNOW WHAT I SHOULD DO ABOUT MY DAUGHTER BEING PUT ON TIK TOK AGAINST MY WILL ?”
In response, Kardashian West made a public statement to call for West to stop the “constant attacks on me in interviews and on social media.” She also expressed her wish to “handle all matters regarding our children privately.”
However, West continued to post about Kardashian West and their children on Instagram. For example, he accused Kardashian West of kidnapping their daughter Chicago after the reality TV star did not invite him to Chicago’s birthday party. West also spread rumors about Pete Davidson, whom Kardashian West started dating late last year.
Some fans are reminded of how Kanye West treated Amber Rose after their breakup
These recent events are reminding some Kardashian-Jenner fans of what happened after West broke up with model Amber Rose.
Before West and Kardashian West began dating in 2012, West dated model Amber Rose from 2008 to 2010. After their breakup, West publicly attacked Rose on numerous occasions. He talked negatively about Rose in his songs and compared her to “prostitutes” at an event.
In 2020, Rose told the No Jumper podcast that West had “bullied” her for “10 years.”
One Reddit user wrote, “In 2020 [Amber Rose] said it was 10 consecutive years of bullying so now I’m wondering if he still does it to this day and if he does it means he will do the same to Kim.”
Another person also commented, “Looking back on it, I would have been very concerned if I was Kim and my husband was still talking about an ex from 10+ years ago…”
Kanye West announces he is taking accountability
West recently changed his tune on Instagram. He deleted all of his posts and shared a picture with a caption about accountability.
“I’ve learned that using all caps makes people feel like I’m screaming at them,” he said. “I’m working on my communication. I can benefit from a team of creative professionals, organizers, mobilizers and community leaders. Thank everybody for supporting me. I know sharing screen shots was jarring and came off as harassing Kim.”
He continued, “I take accountability. I’m still learning in real time. I don’t have all the answers. To be good leader is to be a good listener.”
