Kanye West ‘Completely Changed’ the Kardashian-Jenner Family, According to Fans
For over a decade, Keeping Up with the Kardashian fans have been delightfully tuning in every week to watch the funny and entertaining drama that the Kardashian-Jenner family seems to get themselves into.
Over the years, fans have seen a noticeable change in each one of the family members as they have grown and matured. Fans have also noted that they feel that Kim Kardashian West has changed more than any member of the family. From her wardrobe to her more somber personality, there is no denying that the aspiring lawyer is not the same person that she was when the show started in 2007.
Many fans believe that her husband, Kanye West, is the reason for her drastic personality change. And recently, fans have noticed that the entire family seemed to change whenever West came into the picture. Did the iconic rapper really make the Kardashian-Jenner clan change so drastically?
The Kardashian-Jenner clan seemed like one, big, happy family in the beginning
When the show first aired in 2007, fans were intrigued to watch a wealthy blended family navigate their way through life. It was like the Brady Bunch — if the Brady Bunch lived in a multi-million dollar mansion and liked to drink and party all of the time. The family definitely wasn’t perfect, and they occasionally fought with one another, but overall, they did seem to truly care about each other.
Every member of the family seemed like they were always ready to have a good time; even the family’s matriarch, Kris Jenner. For example, in one episode, Jenner and her daughter Khloe Kardashian decided to go to a local bar in LA to have a few drinks. After a while, Jenner and Kardashian decided that it would be fun to go to Kim Kardashian’s house and secretly cover it with toilet paper and shaving cream.
Kardashian was not impressed with the TP job that the mother-daughter duo did in her home, but the whole experience was very funny and entertaining to watch.
The Kardashian-Jenner family had their fair share of hard times
Every member of the Kardashian-Jenner clan may be ridiculously rich, but that doesn’t mean that they don’t still have their fair share of bad times just like everyone else.
Over the years, fans watched as Kris Jenner and Caitlyn (formerly known as Bruce) Jenner go from being a picture-perfect couple to acting like two strangers who were going through a divorce. The couple’s divorce was finalized in 2015. Then, the entire family had to come to terms with Caitlyn’s transformation.
Another thing that devastated the entire family was when Kim Kardashian was robbed at gunpoint in her Paris hotel in 2017. She had later said in an interview with Ellen DeGeneres that although the robbery was traumatizing, she believed that it helped to change the way she looks at life and that she is no longer as materialistic as she used to be.
Fans think Kanye West ‘completely changed’ the Kardashian-Jenner family
Recently, on Reddit, long-time fans of Keeping Up with the Kardashians were discussing the fact that they have noticed that the family changed between season nine and season 10. Some fans had commented on the fact that the family used to seem much happier in the earlier seasons than they do now. And nowadays, the family does not seem to be happy about filming, and overall, they don’t seem to be as joyful as they once were.
One fan had suggested West was the reason why the family’s personality and image have changed so much. Another commenter agreed and said: “Kanye is an artist. He completely revamped the Kardashian clan to match his image, not the other way around. He changed their style, interests, vibe, and personalities. Whether it’s good or bad, he brought them from B-list to A-list. However, along the way, they lost of their originality and fun-loving personalities, which was what made people fall in love with them in the first place.”
Another poster agreed with the above comment and also suggested that now that Kanye has made the family even more famous, they wonder if the family is “too famous to actually be themselves on a reality TV show now, without entirely wrecking the image they’ve built.”
It’s hard to say for sure if West is the sole reason why the family seems so different. Although fans did start to notice a change in the family once West came onto the scene, the family has also had to deal with a lot of personal tragedies over the years and that could be the reason why they do not seem as “fun-loving” as they used to be.
