Kanye West Reveals He’s Been Trying to Divorce Kim Kardashian West, Says She Stepped ‘Out of Line’ in 2018
Kanye and Kim Kardashian West have always seemed to have a good relationship. They had a solid foundation as friends before getting romantic and went on to build a happy life with four children. But perhaps things aren’t as great as they appear.
In a new Twitter tirade, the Yeezy designer suggested that there has been tension in their marriage for years. Ever since, he said, he has been trying to divorce the reality star.

The tweets came in the wee hours of Wednesday, July 22 when West hopped online to address various subjects.
He had been talking about his previous allegations that Kardashian West had been trying to “lock him up” and how doctors attempted to “5150 him” at his Wyoming ranch after he hosted a headline-making campaign rally on July 19.
The appearance, where he made shocking claims about figures such as Harriet Tubman and even his 7-year-old daughter North, came in the midst of what his family allegedly believes is a bipolar episode.
After venting about the attempt to hospitalize him, West claimed in a since-deleted tweet that he wants a divorce from the KKW Beauty mogul. “I been trying to get divorced since Kim met with Meek at the Warldolf for ‘prison reform,'” he said.
West seemed to be referencing a November 2018 criminal justice summit at Los Angeles’ Waldorf hotel, where Kardashian West and Meek Mill spoke about mass incarceration and other related issues (via The Sunday Mirror).
“Meek is my man and was respectful,” he added. “That’s my dog Kim was out of line.”
He also criticized his wife and her mom, Kris Jenner, for “put[ting] out a statement without [his] approval.” He added, “That’s not what a wife should do.”
It’s one of the last messages he shared before signing offline.
Kim Kardashian West has been keeping quiet throughout it all
The reality star hasn’t made any public statement regarding West ever since his campaign rally. However, insiders have claimed she’s “upset” and concerned about the potential effects his recent behavior could have on their kids: North, 7, Saint, 4, Chicago, 2, and Psalm, 1.
Kardashian West herself told Vogue for its May 2019 issue that she has learned to respond sensitively to West and tries hard to help him through episodes. But even so, sources have started to worry about their future.
“I don’t know if they can survive it,” said a Page Six source who is supposedly close to the couple.
However, the insider noted the Kardashian-Jenners also appear to have a lot of compassion for West right now and are standing by him.
“The family is trying to work out what to do,” the source continued, “and hoping that this nightmare will be over soon and they can get Kanye into treatment.”
As of late, the couple hasn’t said very much about their relationship. However, Kardashian celebrated their sixth wedding anniversary in June, posting an Instagram tribute to West where she noted she would be by his side “forever.”
Their relationship dates back to the early 2000s when they met through mutual friends, but it didn’t turn romantic until 2012 when Kardashian West was going through a divorce from Kris Humphries. They married in a lavish ceremony in June 2014 that was captured in an episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians.
