Kanye ‘Ye’ West Is ‘Emboldening Extremists’ With ‘Nazi Glorification,’ ADL CEO Warns
Kanye “Ye” West is in hot water following the release of hateful, antisemitic tweets. After Super Bowl LIX, West took to X to proclaim himself a Nazi and released swastika T-shirts on the Yeezy website. He later seemed to backtrack his statements. However, West returned to the internet to push more swastika apparel. Here’s what the Anti-Defamation League says about West’s dangerous online activity.
The Anti-Defamation League says Kanye ‘Ye’ West is ’emboldening extremists’

Kanye “Ye” West seems to have taken a turn for the worse in 2025. He and Bianca Censori shocked Grammy Awards viewers when Censori dropped her coat on the red carpet and revealed her naked body beneath it. Then, after Super Bowl LIX, he shocked his fans by selling swastika merchandise on his Yeezy website. West called himself a Nazi on X and posted additional alarming tweets, like how he had “dominion” over his wife and looked up to Hitler.
West later backtracked and declared he doesn’t identify as a Nazi. However, as soon as he did a 180 on his followers, he took to X to share an image of new stastika T-shirts. At this point, it’s unclear what West’s goal is, as his inflammatory, hateful commentary and merch is costing him followers, deals, and possibly his marriage.
Anti-Defamation League CEO and National Director Jonathan Greenblatt called out West’s behavior to Dailymail.com. “There is no excuse — none — for praising Hitler,” he said. “Glorifying a genocidal dictator with swastika merch is not ‘edgy’ or ‘controversial.’ When someone with Kanye’s influence spreads Nazi glorification, it emboldens extremists. It’s unacceptable and downright dangerous.”
The American Jewish Committee also called out West’s “blatant hatred.”
“Hate, left unchecked, only multiplies,” the committee stated. “At a time when antisemitism is skyrocketing to terrifying levels worldwide, Ye is actively endangering Jews. We urge others with a platform like Ye’s — particularly in the entertainment industry — to call out this blatant hatred.”
