Kardashian Fans Criticized Photographers for Going After Kourtney’s Kids
Kourtney Kardashian and her family have been in the spotlight since 2007, and now that a brand new season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians is airing on television, she is getting more attention than ever.
While it is certainly true that she signed up for it on some level, when it comes to her kids, Kardashian is understandably more protective. What’s more, fans are starting to side with her.
Recently, Kourtney Kardashian and all three of her kids were spotted leaving an informal lunch, and the fan reaction to the aggressive paparazzi certainly shows that many people are more understanding of the Kardashian kids’ plight.
How many kids does Kourtney Kardashian have?
Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick started dating in 2006 after meeting at a house party thrown by Joe Francis. Disick was best known as a businessman, and Kardashian had not yet become a reality star, so the early days of their relationship took place in relative privacy.
However, in 2007, Keeping Up with the Kardashians premiered, and the couple’s relationship was thrust into the spotlight. Viewers saw them struggle on-screen, enduring a pregnancy scare, cheating rumors, and several brief breakups.
In December 2009, Disick and Kardashian welcomed their first child, a boy named Mason Dash. Although the couple continued to experience problems, they had another child in the summer of 2012, a daughter whom they named Penelope.
Around this time, Disick battled some of his darker demons, including alcoholism that affected him in the wake of his parents’ tragic deaths. Still, there was a bright spot in December 2014, when the two had a third child, a son, named Reign Aston.
Kourtney Kardashian’s kids have been in the spotlight their whole lives
Not long after Reign was born in late 2014, Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick decided to split up. While the couple kept the reason for their split relatively private, Disick has talked several times since the breakup, claiming that ultimately, he was too “insecure” to really focus on being a present father and partner. Both he and Kardashian have gone on to date other people since breaking up in 2015.
Although their breakup was mostly private, they have allowed the family’s reality show to chronicle their children’s lives from birth. Viewers have probably seen more of Kourtney Kardashian’s children than any of the other sibling’s offspring, including Kim Kardashian’s children.
Part of this could be due to the fact that her children are older than the other Kardashian cousins, and became a part of the show before the family decided to start keeping things more private. Still, this could mean that her children end up enduring more attention from the paparazzi because of it.
Fans slammed photographers for being aggressive with Kourtney Kardashian’s kids
Recently, photographers caught Kourtney Kardashian, her three children, and some family friends leaving a casual lunch date. In a video captured of the incident, the children seem remarkably unhappy with the popping cameras, and fans on Reddit weighed in.
One poster on Reddit stated that “they’re KIDS & they’re CLEARLY uncomfortable having their picture taken while leaving a restaurant. Penelope told them to stop taking pictures & Reign was yelling about how he hated them.” Other fans chimed in, agreeing that the paparazzi’s pursuit of the kids is “sad,” and that it “should be illegal to photograph children without the parent’s consent.”
Some Reddit posters even said that after seeing the video, they can totally understand why Kourtney Kardashian wants to quit the show. It is possible that after this season, fans could see Kardashian deciding to take a big step back from Keeping Up with the Kardashians — this time, maybe for good.
