It’s been a month since Travis Scott’s Astroworld Festival resulted in tragedy. Thanks to a crowd surge, hundreds of people were left injured and 10 people have lost their lives. Since then, Scott has been named in a host of lawsuits amounting to more than $3 billion. Since the tragedy, Scott has been pretty quiet on social media. However, some critics believe that the Kardashian/Jenner family is working overtime to distract fans from the tragedy.
Scott, of course, is connected to the reality TV family through the youngest KarJenner. Kylie Jenner shares a 3-year-old daughter, Stormi Webster, with the “goosebumps” rapper. Furthermore, the pair are expecting their second child together. Recently, W Magazine did a cover story about Jenner, Scott, and their children. However, after Astroworld, the magazine decided to pull the spread.

But despite the shoot being pulled, the spread leaked via the Internet through photos and a TikTok video. Captions for the photos revealed that Jenner and Scott are not, in fact, a couple. Instead, the magazine implied that the pair were simply co-parenting. “Travis and Kylie seemed very comfortable under the sheets, but even though they will soon have two children together –they are not a couple, and haven’t been in two years,” a caption reads.

While the photoshoot was circulating, Khloé Kardashian managed to add more fuel to the fire when she chose to weigh in. The Keeping Up with the Kardashians alum was quick to comment on her little sister’s relationship. “Wow I don’t know why this magazine would write this but they are very much a couple,” she penned. Of course, many people didn’t appreciate Kardashian’s comment at all. They felt she was using the photoshoot to get people talking about Scott and Jenner’s relationship and get the attention away from Astroworld. “Khloe let’s talk about his concert,” one Instagram user penned. “We’re not interested if they’re a couple or not.”
Others were quick to chime in that Kardashian was trying to pivot from Astroworld. “Didn’t 10 people just die at his concert?” another person questioned. “Should we care about his love life?” And Khloé isn’t the only Kardashian who is being accused of intentionally trying to pull focus. Some people believe that Kim Kardashian West’s alleged courtship with Pete Davidson is simply a publicity stunt to distract fans from Astrowrold.

Even with your PR stunt of Kim and Pete together… we won’t forget.” These accusations come just weeks after Kendall Jenner received backlash for continuing to promote herself, partnerships, and business on social media shortly after the tragedy. It’ll be interesting to see how the Kardashian/Jenner family continues to react to such a terrible tragedy. Clearly, their critics (and even some fans) won’t be distracted from the catastrophic events that occurred.
