Karen Pittman Open to Returning to ‘And Just Like That…’ Following Season 3 Exit
Karen Pittman’s star is on the rise. She has appeared in The Morning Show for several seasons, but landing a role on the Sex and the City reboot made her even more well-known. Now, she’s landed the lead role in a new series.
Her increasing popularity does come at a cost, though. While Pittman is excited to work on her new Netflix series, it meant she had to give up her part on And Just Like That… Pittman won’t be back as a cast member for season 3 of the reboot, but she is totally into the idea of returning at some point if the production team is interested. She thinks Nya’s story should continue.

Pittman told The Hollywood Reporter that she’s not against the idea of returning to And Just Like That… if the opportunity presents itself. She made it clear that she’s not the one making the final decision, though, so fans will have to wait and see. Still, Pittman seems committed to the role of Nya despite not having the time in her schedule for it. Pittman told the publication that she feels there is more to Nya’s story.
Pittman’s assessment of her And Just Like That… character is accurate. Nya Wallace was Miranda Hobbes’ law professor at first. They later became friends despite getting off to a rocky start. Nya navigated infertility, divorce, and reentry into the dating world. When Nya last appeared, she grappled with her ex welcoming a child with his new partner while entertaining the idea of a new love. In her final appearance, she shared a steamy moment with a chef. Seeing Nya happy with someone more like-minded would have been satisfying.
Karen Pittman isn’t the only actor who left ‘And Just Like That…’
Nya Wallace isn’t the only character missing when And Just Like That… returns for season 3. Sara Ramirez, the actor who portrayed Che Diaz, has also been written out of the show. Che was Miranda Hobbes’ love interest during seasons 1 and 2 of the series but was largely hated by fans. It January, it was announced that Ramirez would not appear in season 3. The announcement came months before the cast returned to the set.
While there were rumors that Ramirez and the show had parted ways on unfriendly terms, Cynthia Nixon recently suggested that everyone was in agreement that it was time for Che to go. Nixon, who became friendly with Ramirez during their time on the show, said everyone agreed that the character’s story arc was adequately completed when season 2 ended.
Season 3 of And Just Like That… is currently in production. Max has yet to announce an official premiere date, but the streaming service provider did say expect new episodes to arrive in 2025.
