Musician Taylor Swift once earned a reputation for befriending women in a particular profession. Two of her friends from this time, Karlie Kloss and Martha Hunt, are both successful models who were once close themselves. Are they still friends? And if not, did Swift have something to do with this?

Karlie Kloss and Martha Hunt were Victoria’s Secret Models

Kloss and Hunt have quite a bit in common. Both began working as runway models in their teens. They gained notoriety for walking in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in multiple years and were deemed Victoria’s Secret Angels. However, Kloss left behind this notable title to run her Kode with Klossy brand.

Hunt and Kloss were friendly during their Victoria’s Secret days. They shared frequent photos and videos of one another on social media and were involved in many of the same projects. After Kloss left Victoria’s Secret in 2015, they appeared to remain close friends for years.

Though seemingly from different ends of the entertainment industry, Swift appeared to befriend Hunt and Kloss via a shared job. In 2013 and 2014, all three were part of the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, with Swift performing as Hunt and Kloss walked the runway. At the time, Swift became friends with several other models, too.

In fact, the singer’s connection with these women became such a focal point in the media that they were deemed part of her “girl squad.” Swift capitalized on this attention by recruiting Hunt, Kloss, and others (such as Cara Delevingne) to star in the music video for her song “Bad Blood.” It won Video of the Year at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards.

Swift’s fans think she and Kloss are no longer friends

Not long after “Bad Blood,” Swift became a little less outward with her friendships. The girl squad began to dissipate, but she remained close to several members. There’s her musical BFF, Selena Gomez; her childhood friend, Abigail; and her favorite Hollywood couple, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds.

However, Kloss doesn’t seem to be one who made the cut. It’s unclear whether or not there is tension between them, but many Swifties think that the singer-songwriter has made it clear that she’s done with Kloss via her lyrics. Specifically, the Evermore bonus track, “It’s Time to Go.”

While Kloss and Swift look like they’re on the outs (or at least, not actively friendly), Hunt has continued to support Swift actively on social media. She frequently reacts to the artist’s new songs and interviews, and praised her for her disdain for Donald Trump — an area some feel could be the source of the Kloss conflict.

Kloss is married to Joshua Kushner, whose brother, Jared Kushner, is married to Trump’s daughter, Ivanka. Though Kloss doesn’t support the Trumps, her connection likely affected some relationships. It’s not clear if Hunt and Kloss still speak, but it’s possible their friendship just ran its course.
