Kate Middleton Is Back in the Gym and Doing ‘Really Well’ After Cancer Treatment
Sweat sessions in the gym are back on for Kate Middleton. The Princess of Wales, 42, is reportedly returning to exercise now that she’s cancer-free following chemotherapy treatment. Meanwhile, Prince William’s given an update on how “well” she’s doing.
Kate Middleton is ‘training in the gym’
Going to the gym is once again part of Kate’s routine. Speaking to Hello! magazine about Kate’s progress, royal biographer Robert Jobson shared: “From what I understand, Catherine is doing very well. She is back training at the gym and doing all the things she wanted to do.”
According to Cosmopolitan U.K., Kate prefers the Harbour Club in the Chelsea neighborhood of London, England. (Her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana, was also a fan.) Since relocating to Windsor, England, in 2022, Kate will presumably have had to find a new gym closer to home or embrace at-home workouts.
She’s known to squeeze in a bit of exercise wherever she can—even jumping on a trampoline with Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6. Kate’s also a fan of swimming, tennis, and running.
As for what she might do in the gym, an anonymous source once told The Daily Mail that Kate likes “CrossFit and yoga, […] makes time to go for a run most days, [and] enjoys cycling.”
She’s doing ‘really well,’ according to Prince William
Another update on Kate’s health from the Prince of Wales is here. During his trip to Cape Town, South Africa, for the 2024 Earthshot Prize Awards the future king revealed how his wife of 13 years has been doing amid her ongoing recovery.
William told broadcasters Kate’s doing “really well” and that she’s been “amazing this whole year,” (via BBC). Despite not joining William for the ceremony like in previous years, Kate is showing her support from home.
She’s “cheering me on,” William added. (Kate didn’t join William on the trip like in previous years.) “I know she’ll be really keen to see tonight be a success.”
Expect to see ‘a lot more’ of Kate in the new year
So what’s ahead for Kate? More time at the gym and more time in the spotlight. “I do think that we will start to see a lot more of her,” Jobson said. “And that she will carry out engagements as well as continuing to work behind the scenes.”
She’s expected to take a slightly different approach. Instead of “travel[ing] all over the country all the time,” the royal author predicts Kate will “concentrate on more impactful events.”
“If she has her way, she will come back in stages and do things that are important to her because she doesn’t want to get ill again. But also, I’m told, because she has a different perspective now.”
Jobson also expects William and Kate to go on “at least one tour” in 2025, maybe to Canada or Italy. Despite the “life-changing experience” of Kate’s cancer and the resulting changes to “the way she lives her life,” family is still “her priority.”
