Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge has been in the public eye for nearly 20 years. In the first decade when she was just dating Prince William, her style was that of a carefree twenty-something. However, as things became more serious between the pair, the duchess’ style grew increasingly more polished.

In fact, following her engagement to Prince William in 2010, the duchess tried to reinvent herself as a way to enter royal life with a clean slate. She allegedly began asking friends to call her by her given name, Catherine instead of her nickname, Kate. However, since she’d been known as Kate for so long, the name change never stuck.

Still, that hasn’t stopped the duchess from shifting her style drastically as she prepares for her upcoming role as Queen Consort.

Kate Middleton has a new regal style

When the Duchess of Cambridge and Prince William first wed, the duchess embraced a lovely, “girl-next-door” esthetic as she began to find her footing in the royal fold. Her wardrobe choices were very simple and clean cut. Though Kate always looked well put together he style wasn’t necessarily bold.

“Kate’s view is that Queen, country, and family come first,” an insider told The Sun. “She is very clear on her priorities and the values that guide how she lives and works.”

However, with the Sussexes out of the royal fold, and Queen Elizabeth II in isolation amid the coronavirus pandemic, all attention has been on Kate and Prince William. The duchess is using this opportunity to redefine her style, she’s been going for much bolder looks including polka dot prints and dramatic puffy sleeves.

Kate Middleton just debuted honey blonde hair

Amid quarantine, Kate was wearing her typically luscious hair super straight because it was easier for her to maintain on her own. “Kate is a hair icon globally, she’s known for her bouncy hair, but ability-wise, her more textured and bouncier looks are harder to recreate at home,” stylist James Johnson told FEMAIL. “So this side-parted style is perfect for someone who has less hairstyling skills. Whilst being soft, and therefore easier to style herself, this hairdo also carries on her sophisticated look, even in lockdown.”

However, now that restrictions have lifted, the duchess just debuted a stunning new hair color.

Kate is known for her brunette color and her signature bouncy blowdry. However, during a recent appearance on BBC Breakfast, she stunned with a new honey blonde shade and a ’90s style layers that pay chance to Jennifer Aniston’s infamous “Rachel” haircut.
