Kate Middleton Is Determined to ‘Let Go’ of ‘Grudges’ and Finally Heal the Royal Rift, Insider Says
Kate Middleton has been through a lot in 2024, but she is determined to come out stronger. The Princess of Wales was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year, and after undergoing chemotherapy, she announced in September that she looks forward to returning to work.
The princess also reportedly has a new outlook on life, and in her cancer-free announcement, Kate put a big focus on family. Now, she reportedly is looking toward a future of less stress and thinks healing the royal rift could be a big part of that, according to one source.
Kate Middleton reportedly wants to ‘let go’ of the royal rift
Since as far back as 2017, cracks within the royal family began to show. Harry was in love with Meghan Markle, and the rest of the royals seemed to have a problem with it. Tensions rose, and it ultimately caused a major divide between Harry and Meghan and the rest of the royal family. Meghan has not spoken much of Kate since leaving the family, but Meghan did say in her 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey that Kate was a “good person.”
Now, it seems that Kate could be the key to healing the royal rift as she has a new outlook on life. “Facing your own mortality changes people,” a source close to Kate told New Idea Magazine, according to Express. “Kate knows how precious life is and to not waste time on the past.
The source continued, “During her chemo treatment, Kate read theories on cancer being linked to repressed anger and stress. So she’s making a big effort to let go of any grudges.”
The source also said that part of the reason Kate wants to bury the hatchet with Harry and Meghan is because it will prevent them from “doing something else damaging” to the royal family.
Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle could be key to a reconciliation
The reality is that Meghan seemingly wants no part of the royal family. However, there could still be hope for Meghan and Kate to have some kind of relationship, since it seems the two women were on OK terms when Meghan gave that 2021 Oprah interview with Harry. With that said, it doesn’t necessarily mean Meghan would be willing to patch things up with all of the royal family members, but if she and Kate can build some kind of relationship, then that might further open the door for Harry and William.
As of now, though, the only indication of change has been the royal family’s public acknowledgement of Harry’s birthday, which happened for the first time since 2021.
