It appears the ladies of the royal family are doing just fine. Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, have reconnected since Meghans’s interview with Oprah Winfrey. In the televised interview, the Duchess of Sussex claimed that she and her sister-in-law had a brief falling out. But that didn’t stop the two from talking.
The two women are reportedly collaborating on a Netflix documentary, and fans wonder what it will involve.
Meghan revealed her and Kate’s disagreement to Oprah
The Oprah with Meghan and Harry special shook the royal family with its bombshells. One of the most discussed moments was when the Duchess of Sussex recalled a disagreement with her sister-in-law. Oprah asked about a report that Meghan had brought Kate to tears; Meghan revealed that the reality was vice-versa.
“Yes, the issue was correct about flower girl dresses, and it made me cry, and it really hurt my feelings,” the Duchess of Sussex unraveled. “I don’t say that to be disparaging to anyone, because it was a really hard week of the wedding, and she was upset about something, but she owned it, she apologized, and she brought me flowers and a note apologizing, and she did what I would do if I knew I hurt someone. To just take accountability for it.”
After the interview aired, the revelation stirred up some drama among viewers; some took sides between Kate and Meghan; media coverage skyrocketed and speculation soared over Meghan and Prince Harry’s statements. Throughout the spring of 2021, reports circulated about Prince Harry and Prince William’s strained relationship.
Kate and Meghan are collaborating on a Netflix documentary
According to Us Weekly, Meghan contacted Kate about a documentary focused on Kate’s philanthropic contributions. The unnamed source claimed the women are “actually getting along really well and have been in touch more often. Meghan has been talking to [Kate] about collaborating on a project for Netflix, a documentary that will spotlight Kate’s charity work and the huge impact she’s made with her philanthropy.”
The Duchess of Sussex and her husband, Prince Harry, signed a deal with Netflix in 2020 to create new content such as other movies, series, and entertainment for children. Since it’s part of the agreement, this potential documentary could get the green light. However, Kate may be the deciding factor.
“Kate is very flattered, and it’s all very positive between them,” according to the unnamed source.
There are several shows about the royals
If the sisters-in-law work with Netflix, they would add another piece of the royal family onto television. Netflix’s The Crown concentrates on Queen Elizabeth II’s life and Lady Diana Spencer’s when she married Prince Charles. So far, the show has four seasons.
The Crown has faced criticism from British critics and the royal family itself. However, other media outlets and critical websites praise its portrayal of the pressures as a royal. Although the show is in its fourth season, it attracted more attention in 2020 for telling Princess Diana’s life story.
Conversely, the six-part series The Windsors depicts a more accurate presentation. The CNN series uses archived footage of interviews and inside sources to strive for accuracy.
