After nine months of recovery from a cancer diagnosis, Kate Middleton is slowly making her way back into royal life. She’s reportedly held meetings with staff members for several projects and is taking small steps back into the spotlight. As one of the most popular royals on record, the princess shouldn’t be pushed back into work by the House of Windsor, says a former palace employee

Kate Middleton’s return to work could be the boost the crown needs, but is it too soon?

GB News spoke to Dickie Arbiter, the late Queen Elizabeth II’s press spokesman from 1998 until 2000. His unique perspective on the royal family is essential to realizing just how much the firm needs all of its members on board.

“It will be a slow adjustment to getting back on duty, and we mustn’t expect anything mammoth overnight,” Arbiter said. “The fact that she had a meeting earlier this week is a good sign, a good sign that she is engaging with other people other than just her family.”

“We shouldn’t be pushing her, and she certainly shouldn’t be pushing herself to keep people happy that she is coming back; she will do it gradually and in her time. She’s not out of the woods yet, and we must allow her to pace herself.”

Arbiter concluded, “It’s not just about her. It’s not just about the monarchy and the United Kingdom. It is about her family as well.”

Kate Middleton’s hopeful health update

On September 9, Kate Middleton shared a health update on the Instagram page she shares with her husband, Prince William. She revealed details of her continued cancer recovery and future plans.

Kate wrote that her focus was staying “cancer-free.” She revealed that she finished chemotherapy treatment, but her “path to healing and full recovery is long, and I must continue to take each day as it comes.”

She added, “I am, however, looking forward to returning to work and undertaking a few more public engagements in the coming months when I can. Despite all that has happened, I enter this new phase of recovery with a renewed sense of hope and appreciation of life.”

When will Kate Middleton return to work full-time?

The Silent Hero of Kate Middleton’s Brave Cancer Battle

Kate Middleton has carefully consulted with her doctors throughout her cancer fight and recovery. Her trust in them was evident in messages the royal posted to social media where she shared news about her health.

There appears to be a clear understanding between the palace and her team that pushing Kate to a regular schedule of meetings and appearances would be counterproductive to her health. But, as the year ends, several events where she would typically appear are in question as she heeds advice from her medical team on whether or not to participate.

Kate could attend Remembrance Sunday on Nov. 10. Remembrance Sunday is a British holiday honoring the service and sacrifice of British service members who have died in war or other military conflicts since World War I.

She also oversees” the annual Together at Christmas concert, which, according to Westminster Abbey’s website, aims to raise awareness of the “selfless efforts of those who support children and families in communities across the U.K.,” per Westminster Abbey’s website.

This event typically includes a Kate sighting as the royal family walks from church. The tradition begins at Sandringham House in Norfolk and ends at a St. Mary Magdalene Church.
