Kate Middleton to ‘Spoil’ George, Charlotte, and Louis in 2025 After ‘Frightening’ 2024
Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis are in for a fun year filled with occasional “treats” from their mom, Kate Middleton, after the Princess of Wales’s 2024 cancer diagnosis. What Kate—and Prince William—have in store for their three children in 2025.
George, Charlotte, and Louis’ can expect ‘treats’ this year
Speaking to Hello! Magazine, royal author Ingrid Seward shared that George, 11, Charlotte, 9, and Louis, 6, could expect “treats” this year. “I think William and Kate might take the children skiing during the Easter holidays and will probably be planning a big summer holiday,” Seward said. “Because as far as we know they didn’t go anywhere last year.”
Kate announced she’d been diagnosed with an undisclosed type of cancer in a March 2024 video. After the occasional public appearance over the summer, she revealed she’d completed treatment in a September 2024 video update.
“Kate will be wanting to spoil them a bit,” Seward said of George, Charlotte, and Louis. “Because it’s very frightening for children when their parents are that ill. So I think they will be up for a few treats this year.”
Kate Middleton’s birthday is a chance for Prince William and the Wales kids to ‘spoil’ her
Jan. 9, 2025, will be a special day in the Wales household—Kate’s birthday. After the stress of 2024, Kate’s birthday will, according to royal correspondent Jennie Bond, be an opportunity to celebrate a new chapter.
“This birthday is going to be memorable in so many ways,” Bond told OK! Magazine. “It will mark the start of a new and hopefully happier year and the end of one that has been brutal for the whole family.”
Kate, she added, will be the one getting spoiled. “For her husband and children, this will be an excuse to spoil her rotten. And, even though it falls on a school day, I’m sure that’s exactly what they’ll do.” (Classes resume for George, Charlotte, and Louis at Lambrook School on Jan. 8, 2025.)
Potential birthday gifts for Kate include “some pampering products like luxurious bath oils and scented candles” and maybe some silk pajamas or cashmere sweaters from her husband, the Prince of Wales.
Maybe even a home-cooked meal courtesy of William. “Even though he says he’s not a very good cook, Catherine did tell Mary Berry that he’s quite good at breakfasts so maybe a tray— complete with a rose—will arrive early for her.”
Additionally, Kate’s “parents [Carole and Michael Middleton] and siblings [Pippa Middleton Matthews and James Middleton] will certainly all want to make a fuss of Catherine as she embarks on a new year.”
George, Charlotte, and Louis remain Kate’s focus along with her recovery
Although it’s a new year that doesn’t mean a new approach for Kate. The soon-to-be 43-year-old is focusing on her health. “There is no huge reset button that’s going to be hit in January,” an insider told the Daily Mail. “What we will actually see is a slow continuation of the Princess balancing her recovery and her public-facing duties.”
While being diagnosed with cancer “changed” Kate and impacted her “perspective,” she and William are sitll focused on George, Charlotte, and Louis. “Family and their children continue to be at the center of their universe,” a source said.
“Both Their Royal Highnesses have a strong commitment to duty, service, and using their platform for good. But what they are working on is ways they can balance themselves as parents with being the Prince and Princess of Wales.”
