Kate Middleton Takes Her Kids Shopping for Halloween Costumes Like Any Other Parent, Witness Reveals
Prince William and Kate Middleton have worked hard to give their kids the most normal lives possible. Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis are certainly no ordinary children, but the royal family has done its best to let the kids experience most things that other children do.
George, Charlotte, and Louis all go to school with non-royal children, and it turns out they even get to celebrate Halloween. Kate was once spotted shopping with George and Charlotte for their Halloween costumes.

George, Charlotte, and Louis can’t do everything that other kids can. They have security that most children don’t, and there are boundaries that are just too risky for the kids to cross when it comes to being in public. But William and Kate have done their best to let the kids experience everything they can, and back in 2019, the princess was seen shopping with her two older children for their Halloween costumes.
“Another shopper said that Kate was in the shop near the clothing and pointed where she was to me. I just couldn’t believe it,” witness Kathy Whittaker told Mirror, according to Express. “She was with Charlotte and George looking at Halloween outfits, but her bodyguard was kind of watching people with phones and telling them no pictures.”
The witness was also “surprised” that Kate was shopping in such an ordinary store. However, at the time, the supermarket was close to William and Kate’s home, Amner Hall (they have since moved to Adelaide Cottage). It’s suspected that William and Kate do not allow their kids to trick-or-treat for security reasons, though it’s unclear if the kids get any opportunity to do so at school or elsewhere.
Prince William and Kate Middleton continue to put their children first
William and Kate are not letting the throne get in the way of how they raise their children. The Prince and Princess of Wales have remained steadfast in putting their kids first, and that was evident in the delay of Kate announcing her cancer diagnosis to the public. She specifically said she was looking for the proper way to explain it to her children.
Kate and William take on fewer engagements than many other royals, most likely to ensure that enough time is carved out for their kids. It seems clear as the children grow up that there has been a balance shift among the adult royals, and they’re now prioritizing family time over royal duties.
