Kate Middleton Teased Prince William With 3 Romantic Words Right After Saying ‘I Do’
As Prince William escorted his new wife, Kate Middleton, out the doors of Westminster Abbey and into the royal coach, she leaned into her new husband and teased him with three romantic words. Kate Middleton’s words of love signified her devotion to Prince William
Royal biographer Robert Jobson, author of the book Catherine, the Princess of Wales: A Biography of the Future Queen, shared intimate details of the day Prince William wed Kate Middleton. His connections within the royal household allowed him insider information about the April 2011 day the couple was wed.
As excerpted by The Sun, Jobson shared the couple had just exited Westminster Abbey and entered the royal carriage that would drive them through the streets of London. Kate and William greeted the well-wishers lining the streets, who applauded and cheered for the newlyweds.
Jobson writes the couple climbed into a “one-topped carriage.” After they sat down, Kate reportedly asked William three important words, “Are you happy?”
According to the author, William responded, “It was amazing. I’m so proud you’re my wife.”
Kate continues to praise William and their marriage 13 years later
Kate continued to rely on William throughout their marriage and he responded in kind. The couple’s strength was tested when the Princess of Wales received a health scare early in 2024.
In January of that year, Kate Middleton was diagnosed with cancer after what the palace called a scheduled abdominal surgery. The Princess of Wales recovered at home; her husband, Prince William, was by her side.
She remained silent on the procedure and her diagnosis until March. Then, Kate released a video revealing she had cancer, and praising William for his devotion to her and their family.
“Having William by my side is a great source of comfort and reassurance, too. As is the love, support, and kindness that has been shown by so many of you. It means so much to us both,” the princess stated.
In June, just before her first public appearance at Trooping the Color, Kate shared another statement regarding her health. She wrote, “I have been blown away by all the kind messages of support and encouragement over the last couple of months. It really has made the world of difference to William and me and has helped us both through some of the harder times.”
Kate Middleton and Prince William always had a special bond
Although Kate Middleton and Prince William were a couple for many years before their engagement in October 2010, he and Kate never sat down for a formal interview. Therefore, little was known about their relationship in their own words.
The couple said in their engagement interview that something special drew them together. Although they were friends at first, a relationship blossomed when they realized there was something deeper between them.
William joked, “She’s got a really naughty sense of humor. Which kind of helps me because I’ve got a really dry sense of humor, so it was good fun. We had a really good laugh, and things happened.”
Kate added, “Well, I think if you go out with someone for quite a long time, you get to know each other very, very well. You go through the good times, and you go through the bad times. I think if you can come out of that stronger and learn things about yourself, it certainly, it’s been a good how many years?”
Prince William and Kate Middleton are parents to three children. Prince George arrived in 2013, followed by Princess Charlotte in 2015 and Prince Louis in 2018.
