Kate Middleton Has Had a Tense Relationship With One of Prince William’s Cousins but Another Family Member ‘Takes Inspiration’ From the Princess
Fans have heard a lot over the years about the Princess of Wales’ (formerly known as Kate Middleton) relationships with some royal family members including Meghan Markle, Prince Harry, and King Charles. But what about her relationships with her other in-laws?
Well, past events have shown that the Princess of Wales has had a bit of a tense relationship with one of Prince William‘s cousins, while another one of her husband‘s cousins gets “inspiration” from Kate.

A video went viral in 2022, that showed a tense encounter between Kate and Princess Eugenie.
The clip posted on X (formerly Twitter) contains footage of the royal family leaving an annual Christmas Day service at St. Mary Magdalene Church on the Sandringham estate in Norfolk. The video shows Eugenie pushing past Kate outside the church to get in front of her. The Princess of Wales stopped and turned briefly to see who she felt blow by her. Then, as Kate walks past Eugenie, she gives her a hard stare before flicking her hair and moving on to greet well-wishers.
When the video made the rounds, fans became convinced that the two never got along. That could be why we don’t see many pictures of them together even though they attend a lot of the same royal events.

As for the royal who “takes inspiration” from the Princess of Wales, that is Eugenie’s sister Princess Beatrice, according to an expert.

Speaking on behalf of Betfair Slots, Stanton said: “Beatrice is confident — similarly to Zara Tindall and Kate Middleton. She takes after her mother — who is also very much her own person. This is often shown through the clothes she wears, as she’s not afraid to stand out from the crowd. In some ways, this is reminiscent of Kate, who she takes inspiration from. Kate’s very similar in terms of being confident in their own skin.
“This all comes down to someone’s self-esteem and the ability to adapt. Beatrice has shown she is very self-assured. It’s taken quite a long time for her to gain this confidence. While she hasn’t been in the public eye as often as Kate, Beatrice has gradually shown she feels confident in her own skin. She holds her head high, is able to openly communicate her feelings, and is happy to be taking part in royal duties.”
