Platinum Jubilee weekend is over but the royal family has other milestones to celebrate. Among them are Prince William and Kate Middleton turning 40. Queen Elizabeth II is reportedly throwing them a birthday party. And, according to a royal expert, the Duchess of Cambridge wants Prince Harry on the guest list.

Queen Elizabeth’s birthday party for Prince William and Kate Middleton is reportedly scheduled for later in the summer of 2022

A party is on the way for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. The UK’s Mirror reported they’re set to celebrate turning 40 with a big party after getting Queen Elizabeth’s go-ahead.

William turned 40 on June 21. Meanwhile, Kate turned 40 on January 9. Due to coronavirus (COVID-19), William didn’t throw Kate a party

The outlet said William’s grandmother offered Windsor Castle and Sandringham House as possible party venues after agreeing the couple should, as a royal source put it, “celebrate their landmark birthdays in style.”

William and Kate’s birthday party will reportedly take place later in the summer of 2022 at one of the two aforementioned royal residences. Additionally, reps from Kensington Palace, the official office of William and Kate, haven’t confirmed the party’s actually happening. The Mirror said when asked about the possibility of a party, a rep responded with, “We do not comment on private plans.”

A royal expert says Kate Middleton is ‘very keen’ on Prince Harry being invited to the party

The Duke of Sussex will get an invite to the birthday bash if his sister-in-law has anything to say about it. Royal expert Neil Sean told the UK’s Daily Express she wants William’s younger brother to be there.

“According to a very good source, Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, is very keen for Harry to be invited,” Sean said.

What about Harry’s wife, Meghan Markle? Will the Duchess of Sussex also get an invite to William and Kate’s birthday party? Sean said the source made “no mentioned of Meghan.”

As for why Kate wants Harry there, Sean shared she sees it as a chance for William and Harry to bond. “Apparently she thinks this would be an actual great way of bonding together,” he said. “Birthdays are a time, as she’s pointed out, of celebration, families, and having loved ones around you.”

When Harry and Meghan returned to England to celebrate Queen Elizabeth’s 70 years on the throne they didn’t have a public reunion with William and Kate. Instead, they kept their distance at a June 3 National Service of Thanksgiving.

Which, perhaps, was by design. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex sat on one side of St. Paul’s Cathedral. Meanwhile, William and Kate sat on the other. That meant no photo ops of the two couples. Moreover, seats seemed to be assigned, evident in Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie standing up to let Harry and Meghan by.

While Harry’s body language conveyed anxiety, William supposedly feels there’s nothing more he can do as far as tensions with his brother are concerned.
