Katy Perry Calls Being a Mom ‘the Best’ and ‘Most Fulfilling’ Job She’s Ever Had
Katy Perry is basking in the joys of motherhood. Eight months after welcoming her daughter, Daisy Dove, with fiancé Orlando Bloom, the singer reflected on her motherhood journey with supermodel Miranda Kerr on a recent Instagram Live.
Not only did the women gush about the “unconditional love” they receive from their children, but Perry also opened up her role as a mom, calling it “the best job” ever.

On Apr. 13, Perry joined Kerr on Instagram Live to discuss the launch of the supermodel’s KORA Organics skincare line’s new turmeric moisturizer.
During their chat, the women, who have bonded over motherhood, opened up about their budding friendship, which has only gotten stronger over the years.
“In our modern family, she’s probably the most health-conscious of everyone,” Perry said of Kerr, who shares 10-year-old son Flynn with her fiancé, Bloom.
“One of the great things about being close to Miranda is I get to try out all her products, especially when her son comes home with them in his backpack,” Perry added, laughing.
The women also discussed the joys of motherhood, which to them is a feeling unlike any other.
“The kids are my number one love,” Kerr gushed. “It’s just the best thing in the world, being a mom.”

Since becoming a parent herself, Perry’s realized that being a mom is “the best job” and “the most fulfilling.”
“There was no feeling like the feeling when I had my daughter,” she told Kerr. “That was like all the love I was ever searching for what like ‘Bam.'”
The American Idol judge went on to compare the love she experiences as a mother to the adoration she receives as a pop star, saying, “Your art is validated by the outside world and that fluctuates. Sometimes you are beloved and then sometimes people are like, ‘No, I don’t like that, moving on.'”
However, the love Perry receives from her eight-month-old daughter is something she believes is out of this world.
“The love from your children is constant and unconditional and isn’t based on what you have, what you don’t have, what career,” the singer continued. “So that’s definitely made me feel so full, to know that there’s this unwavering, unconditional love.”
The “Never Really Over” hitmaker admitted she’s glad she decided to have a baby at this stage in her life as she didn’t want to “keep bulldozing ahead” with her career and miss out on being a mom.
“It’s amazing to have this opportunity to be a businesswoman, but at 34, when I was like, ‘OK, I’m ready,'” she revealed. “I’m so glad I made the conscious decision to actually try and do that.”

Now that Perry is a mom and has made the transition into motherhood, she couldn’t be happier with her life.
In fact, the singer loves being a mom so much, she “highly recommends” this lifestyle to anyone who’s ready for it.
“[Daisy has] changed my life and still continues to change my life,” Perry said about her daughter in an Instagram Live back in January 2021, per Billboard.
“I think that you realize that when you become a mother… you just have to focus on being a mom,” she continued. “And it’s not because you don’t love other people, it’s not because of anything besides you just want to be a great mom. So a lot of stuff falls away when you become a mom and it is the best job in the world. I highly recommend it when you’re ready.”
