Katy Perry Looked ‘Unnatural and Worried’ at Paris Fashion Week, Fashion Psychologist Says
Katy Perry is one of the biggest names in the music industry, and she turned heads during Paris Fashion Week festivities in June 2024. Perry wore a nearly topless dress that shocked fans, and another one of her looks contained lyrics from her new single, which debuts in July 2024. Unfortunately, a fashion psychologist said that Perry looked “unnatural” while showing off the designer dresses.

Katy Perry stunned during the Balenciaga Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2024-2025 show in Paris in June 2024. She wore three shocking looks that had fans talking.
One of Perry’s looks showed her bare chest covered by a black fur coat that reached her ankles. She completed the look with ripped tights, black heels, black sunglasses, and a sleek ponytail.
Another one of Perry’s looks promoted her music. She wore a red minidress with a 100-yard train. The train trailed behind her and contained lyrics to her new song, “Woman’s World,” printed on the fabric.
Perry turned heads once more with a cutout dress from Noir Kei Ninomiy’s Fall 2019 collection that barely covered her chest. The bottom of the dress was adorned with florals, and a drumline walked behind Perry as she debuted the look on the runway.
Fashion psychologist, Professor Carolyn Mair, Ph.D., told The Sun that Perry was trying “very hard” to get attention in Paris with her looks. “But instead of looking tough and provocative, Katy Perry looked unnatural and worried,” Mair claimed.
Mair added that Perry is facing “challenges” in the music industry and trying to look “resilient” despite it all. “We can see that Katy was trying to handle the music challenges and look resilient and tough,” she continued. “But the person inside all these provocative outfits did not measure up. These clothes were also Katy’s armor chosen to protect her and represent a different, tougher persona than her authentic self. She looked unsure and nervous in all her Paris outfits, and her face looked taut.”

Katy Perry spoke to Women’s Wear Daily in Paris about her most revealing outfit — the topless look with a fur coat to cover her chest. She explained how the tights covered her C-section scar, which was a must for her.
“I had a few options, which was lovely,” Perry explained. “It’s my first Balenciaga show. It came about because I wanted to be streamlined, sexy, sensual, simple, but chic. And I think I wanted to wear my nylons right above my C-section scar. That’s the lowest I was going to go.”
“This is where I birthed a child, so everybody can just …,” Perry said while putting her fingers in a peace sign at the camera.
Katy Perry is pursuing more music after ‘American Idol’
Katy Perry has left American Idol for the time being. She said on Jimmy Kimmel Live! that she wanted to return to her music routes.
“This fall, this September, I’m going to be doing this huge music festival in Brazil called Rock in Rio,” Perry explained. “It’s really exciting. It’s a big deal; it’s a big deal for people all over the world, especially for my Brazilian fans. But, I think this probably will be my last show, my last season for Idol.” She added that she had “some things planned for this year” and that she’d been in the studio “for a while.”
Perry told Billboard that she hopes her upcoming music will be “a party,” and fans are excited to learn more about her sixth album, which will release in 2024.
