Katy Perry Steps Out in Bold Nearly-Topless Look But Covers C-Section Scar: See Photos
The Paris Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2024/25 and Menswear shows are fully underway in June 2024, and some of the world’s biggest stars are putting on their best looks. Katy Perry received a lot of press this past year after she announced her departure from American Idol. Now, she’s stepping out in Paris with a bold, nearly topless look — and she explained how the outfit covered her C-section scar.
Katy Perry stepped out in a bold near-topless look for Paris Fashion Week
Katy Perry isn’t afraid to make bold fashion statements, especially during Paris Fashion Week events. She stepped out in one of her boldest looks yet during the Balenciaga Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2024-2025 show.
Perry wore a floor-length black fur coat that hit right above her ankles with nothing underneath. The coat covered her chest while completely showing her midsection. To go with the coat, she donned black tight-boots with rips up her thighs. Perry wore black sunglasses and a sleek bun to complete the look. She chose not to wear any jewelry, as this could’ve detracted from her nude midsection.
The singer spoke to Women’s Wear Daily about her bold fashion choice and how she aimed to keep the look sexy while still covering her C-section scar.
“I had a few options, which was lovely,” she said. “It’s my first Balenciaga show. It came about because I wanted to be streamlined, sexy, sensual, simple, but chic. And I think I wanted to wear my nylons right above my C-section scar. That’s the lowest I was going to go.”
“This is where I birthed a child, so everybody can just …,” Perry said while flashing a peace sign at the camera.
The singer promoted her music with another bold look during Fashion Week
Katy Perry’s nearly nude look was one of many fashionable moments in Paris. After exiting a limo outside the Ritz Paris, Perry stepped out in a red Balenciaga mini dress with two trains. The mini dress had one sleeve and was paired with black tights and heels.
Perry looked sensational in the dress, but the train had everyone talking. Perry used one of the dress trains to promote her sixth upcoming album and new single, “Woman’s World.” The train contained over 100 yards of fabric with the lyrics of her single in white lettering.
The song comes with controversy, as Perry worked on the track with Lukasz Gottwald, aka Dr. Luke. Kesha sued Dr. Luke in 2014 and alleged he drugged, raped, and tormented her during their working relationship.
Katy Perry’s fans applauded her for showing her natural breasts in another gown
In yet another bold look, Perry showed off her body in a Noir by Kei Ninomiya gown. The top of the gown featured black cutouts showing Perry’s bare chest, and the bottom contained floral details. Perry took to the runway at the Place Vendôme while wearing the look as bass drummers trailed behind her.
“I modeled it,” Perry said of the look in a TikTok. “It was giving. I was giving? I modeled. Anna [Wintour] said model, and I said, ‘Mmm,'” she added while making fun of herself and holding a glass of champagne.
