Keanu Reeves Fans Completely Approve of His Girlfriend, Alexandra Grant
From The Matrix to John Wick, Keanu Reeves has proved he has serious staying power in the entertainment industry, especially when it comes to thrillers. And he’s been in the spotlight more than ever before due to his good deeds and kind heart. Movie fans everywhere have come out of the woodwork to share their stories of meeting Reeves, and he appears to be gracious in each tale. And it’s had us all wondering why Reeves hasn’t seemed to seriously date anyone in years.
It looks like fans don’t have to speculate on who Reeves is dating anymore, however. He’s stepped out on the red carpet with his girlfriend, Alexandra Grant, and fans are absolutely loving her. Here’s why.
Keanu Reeves has a tragic history with love
There are plenty of kind-hearted folks in Hollywood, but few seem as genuine and thoughtful as Reeves. Sadly, Reeves has a tragic history with dating and love.
The actor dated fellow actress Jennifer Syme in the late ’90s, and the two were even going to have a child together. Sadly, their baby was stillborn, which seemed to create a divide between Syme and Reeves, ultimately causing their breakup. While they remained friends after and met up from time to time, Syme then died in a car crash on April 2, 2000, when she lost control of her Jeep and sideswiped three parked cars, causing her to be thrown from the vehicle.
Not only that, but Reeves’ famous best friend, River Phoenix, also died of a drug overdose. And Reeves had other tragedies within his family as well. Because of all of this, Reeves has seemed to accept his fate as a lonely person who will never have his own family. “I’m too … it’s too late. It’s over,” he told Esquire in 2017.
He’s now reportedly dating artist Alexandra Grant
Despite the tragedies of the past, Reeves seems to have found love again. Us Weekly reported Reeves stepped out on the red carpet with Alexandra Grant on Nov. 2, when they attended the LACMA Art + Film Gala together, and this isn’t the first time they’ve attended events together, either. Grant and Reeves reportedly were attending events together as early as 2016. And a source even told Us that they’ve been dating for years.
“It wasn’t a secret. They have been dating since at least summer of 2017,” the source told the publication.
As for what Grant does, she’s a Los Angeles-based artist who draws, paints, photographs, sculpts, and works in video art. She and Reeves have reportedly worked on a number of projects together, including book collaborations.
Fans love Reeves’ relationship with Grant
Reeves’ fans have wanted him to find true love and happiness for years, and they seem ecstatic that Grant is around. It’s not uncommon for famous actors to date extremely young women, but fans are praising Reeves for dating someone age-appropriate who seems just as passionate about the arts as he is.
“They look so happy and it’s so great to see a middle-aged man with someone age appropriate. They’re adorable and I wish them all the best,” one Reddit user commented. Another wrote, “She looks at him the same way he looks at puppies. I’m so happy for Keanu.” Yet another added, “I have met her a few times and she was always very gracious and sincere. I don’t actually know her, or Keanu for that matter, but based on my limited knowledge it makes sense that they would like each other.”
Reeves appears to be quite a private man, so we’re not expecting him to come out and discuss his relationship with the public any time soon. Even so, it seems there’s nothing but positive energy headed Reeves and Grant’s way. Congratulations are in order for the happy couple!
