Keanu Reeves Hopes to Reunite With Sandra Bullock On Screen: ‘I Think We Have Good Chemistry’
Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock showed off their amazing on-screen chemistry in Speed and The Lake House and both stars are eager to reunite again. Reeves revealed his desire to share the screen with Bullock again, noting that it’s an “exciting” proposition. Bullock has a great pitch idea for their next movie.
Keanu Reeves hopes he and Sandra Bullock are co-stars again
During a Q&A for Esquire, Reeves answered a number of questions, including whether he thinks he and Bullock will co-star in a movie again. “You starred opposite Sandra Bullock in Speed and The Lake House. Any chance we will see you two reunite on screen again in the future?” he was asked.
Reeves said he’s totally on board with the idea of being in another movie with Bullock.
“I sure hope so. She’s such a wonderful artist and person,” he answered. “And, you know, I think we have good chemistry. And it would be really exciting and interesting to get the chance to perform with her again.”

Bullock also spoke with Esquire for a feature about Reeves and shared her vision for how they can show off that chemistry in the future.
“I would love nothing more than to do a comedy with Keanu before we die,” she explained. “Just laugh with him. He’s funny. We can be seventy-five — it’ll be even better then, like an old-people Cocoon thing. We play two funny old people.”
She continued, “A road trip. Just put us in an RV as old people. It’ll be the bookend of Speed! We’ll just be driving really slowly. Pissing the world off. There’s our movie.”
Bullock said she and Reeves had instant chemistry
The actors met when they auditioned for Speed and immediately clicked.
In a 1994 interview with Entertainment Weekly, Bullock revealed some of the “physical scenes” they had to play out in the audition. “I had to read for Speed,” Bullock said. “Just to make sure the chemistry was OK between me and Keanu. We had to do all these really physical scenes together, rolling around on the floor and stuff.”
The actor continued, “At one point Keanu stumbled into me and sort of grabbed my butt. I asked him, ‘Are you copping a feel?’ He got all panicky and was like, ‘Nooooo! I wasn’t!’ I was like, ‘Relax, Keanu. Just kidding.’”
Reeves and Bullock both had crushes on each other
Both Reeves and Bullock shared in separate interviews on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that they had crushes on each other while making Speed. They never had a romantic relationship, however.
Reeves shared his thoughts about why he and Bullock never dated and it boiled down to professional reasons. “We were working!” he explained.
He did admit, “It was nice to go to work. She’s such a wonderful person, such a wonderful actress.”
