Kelley Wouldn’t Date Peter Weber After ‘The Bachelor,’ Says He ‘Needs to Figure out His Own Stuff’
Fans of The Bachelor really rallied around Kelley Flanagan. That’s because she was smart, confident, and wasn’t afraid to call out Peter Weber. He sent her home, but apparently his mother is still a fan of her. Find out about their meeting and why Kelley wouldn’t date Weber so soon after the season.
Peter Weber sent Kelley Flanagan home on ‘The Bachelor’
Kelley started off strong this season because she met Weber before the season. They also got to recreate their first moments together on a group date.
“I’m really excited that Peter’s the bachelor because I’ve met Peter,” Kelley Flanagan said on The Bachelor. “I was in California for one of my best friend’s weddings and saw Peter in the lobby. I guess he was there for his 10-year reunion.”
She said the moment helped push her to go through with being a contestant. “It’s hard to not look at that situation and think that wasn’t a major sign being sent to me like ‘Hey, you should really do this,’” Kelley said. “And who knows? Maybe at the end of it I’ll be engaged.”
However, later things soured between them. That’s because Weber noticed she was pulling away. He then accused her of not being ready for marriage before sending her home. Weber later admitted he was wrong.
“I definitely had questions at first if she was really ready and wanted this. I was wrong, she truly was,” he told Entertainment Tonight. “I think she can absolutely make an amazing [Bachelorette].”
His mom, Barbara approves of Kelley
Barbara made it known that she didn’t approve of her son’s relationship with Madison Prewett. But she was supportive of other contestants this season.
“She stans Kelley, which I just learned, which is really funny,” Kelley told Entertainment Tonight. “I saw her at the finale. She would not leave the finale until she met me.”
The former contestant said they “just had small talk.” Kelley claimed the mother told her “You’re beautiful, I love you. I was your fan since day one.”
She wouldn’t date Weber so soon after the show
The lawyer isn’t trying to date the reality star any time soon. She gave her reasoning to Us Weekly.
“To be honest, I think that Peter needs to figure out his own stuff for quite some time,” Kelley said. “I think that this whole process, maybe, got to him a little bit.”
She went on to talk about unexpectedly meeting the pilot before filming. “I met Peter outside of the show and he was so sweet, he was amazing, and I think that the show may have gotten to him a little bit,” the former contestant said.
She continued, “Right now, I think it’s time for him to just reflect on himself and figure out his own stuff, what he wants, what Peter Weber really is and his wants and needs and stuff like that, but right now he should just focus on himself and do his own thing.”
Weber and Madison announced they broke up two days after the finale on Instagram.
