How Kelly Clarkson Feels About Her Upcoming 2022 ACMs Dolly Parton Tribute
Kelly Clarkson recorded a version of “9 to 5” for The Kelly Clarkson Show, sharing her support for the “pioneer of a woman,” Dolly Parton. Additionally, she announced an upcoming Parton-themed tribute for the Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards.

Kelly Clarkson will perform at the 2022 Academy of Country Music Awards
Clarkson went from a contestant on American Idol to a judge on The Voice to a well-known singer and talk show host. She has released songs including “Since U Been Gone,” “Because of You,” and “Behind These Hazel Eyes” and has collaborated with other artists on original music.
In 2022, the Academy of Country Music Awards added Clarkson to its performance roster. There, she’ll perform a Dolly Parton tribute. Clarkson took to Instagram, posting a short video of the announcement.
“One word: DOLLY,” Clarkson captioned her post. “That’s right, y’all! I’m so excited to announce that during this year’s @ACMawards, I’ll be performing a tribute to the show’s host @DollyParton! Don’t miss the #ACMawards LIVE Monday, March 7, only on @PrimeVideo.”
This post earned thousands of likes from Clarkson fans and a red heart emoji from Parton herself.
Clarkson has been a longtime fan of Parton, even covering “9 to 5” for the “Kellyoke” segment of The Kelly Clarkson Show.
Clarkson also mentioned her upcoming performance on her talk show, saying she’s “super stoked” about the ACMs. She said Parton would also be a guest on her show, with the duo re-recording a version of “9 to 5” together.
“It’s a blessing to get to sing with such a pioneer of a woman, one hell of a woman,” Clarkson added.
Dolly Parton will host the 2022 ACMs
Parton is already the recipient of many awards. And the legendary country artist will be hosting this year’s Academy of Country Music Awards. That’s in addition to being honored by Clarkson’s performance.
Some of country music’s biggest stars will perform at this award ceremony. That includes Carrie Underwood, Brittney Spencer, Brothers Osborne, Chris Young, Eric Church, Jason Aldean, Jordan Davis, Kane Brown, Luke Bryan, and Mitchell Tenpenny. Some nominees for ACM Awards include Underwood, Chris Stapleton, Church, Luke Combs, and Miranda Lambert in the Entertainer of the Year category.
Dolly Parton will also perform at the upcoming award ceremony
In addition to hosting the country music celebration, Parton will take the stage with Kelsea Ballerini to perform “Big Dreams and Faded Jeans.” Parton created this song in conjunction with Run, Rose, Run, the full-length album detailing Parton’s novel of the same title.
Taking place in Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium, the ACM Awards will stream live exclusively on Prime Video at 8 p.m. EST on March 7.
