Kelly Ripa on the Longest Amount of Time She Went Without Sex With Mark Consuelos

Live With Kelly and Ryan! star, Kelly Ripa, and Riverdale actor, Mark Consuelos, have a relationship worth envying. The two have been together for over two decades and still seem to like each other’s company. While quarantined, Ripa opened up about her life partner, how they make it work, and the longest stretch the two have ever gone without sex.

Some of the greatest love stories in Hollywood happen when two stars work together on the set of a movie or TV show. Spending so much time together on camera must work a special kind of magic when it comes to unintentional matchmaking.

Such is the case with Live With Kelly and Ryan! star, Kelly Ripa and her husband of 24 years, Mark Consuelos. The two eloped to Las Vegas in 1996 after working together on the set of All My Children.

As most know, they have three children together — Michael, Lola, and Joaquin. Ripa recently spoke with SiriusXM’s Quarantined with Bruce. There, she revealed the family has been couped up together for the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic quarantine. With that, she added all that time together hasn’t been the best thing for their tight-knit family.

However, Ripa continued, reflecting on why her marriage with Consuelos has worked for as long as it has.

“I think we found each other at the right time in our lives,” Ripa said. “We were really young, not that that’s the right time in somebody’s life, but we were really like, pliable, right? Like we were pliable to each other. We really, like, learned — we learned each other well and so with that comes a certain level of comfort and confidence and experimentation and just fun like we have fun.”

Consuelos weighed in saying that Ripa “checks off all the boxes for [him].”

When it comes to Hollywood and love, these two seem to have figured out what works for them long before the pressures of the industry intervened.

As the interview progressed, Ripa opened up about their (private) romantic life revealing there was a time Consuelos lived n Australia for seven months which put a damper on their sex life. Ripa apparently visited half-way through the trip to reconnect with the love of her life.

Consuelos made a joke saying he actually went “seventeen and a half years” without sex in his pre-Ripa life, meaning the two keep things spicy as often as possible.

For those who’ve wondered how some celebrity couples stay together while others are falling apart, Ripa and Consuelos prove it only takes two people who “check each other’s boxes” and travel half-way around the world for a little one-on-one time.

Here’s what the couple plan to do when they’re empty-nesters

Ripa and Consuelos only have one child still at home. Michael and Lola are off on their own, leaving the youngest, Joaquin. So, what will the two do once they’re full-blown empty nesters?

Ripa previously told People, they plan to be “totally naked.”

“At all times. We are going to change the locks,” she said. “People are like, ‘Oh, you’re gonna miss the kids.’ I’m like, ‘I don’t know, I wanna experiment with it. See how that goes.'”

Only time will tell if the love birds will actually change the locks. In the meantime, they’re parents just like the rest of us. In an older Instagram post, per The Blast, Ripa posted a photo of her producer, Albert Bianchini, under her Oscars skirt, Consuelos commented: “been there.”

Lola’s response was like any other child saying she was “repulsed.”
