Kelly Severide Actor Taylor Kinney Talks ‘Chicago Fire’ Episode 200: ‘It’s a Milestone’
Chicago Fire episode 200 is finally here, and viewers can’t wait to see the major reveals in store for the episode. So far, teasers for Chicago Fire Season 10 Episode 5 indicate some cast members may leave for good. And Kelly Severide actor Taylor Kinney, as well as Christopher Herrmann actor David Eigenberg, spoke about what’s to come in the new episode.
‘Chicago Fire’ Episode 200 teases big changes and potential cast shakeups
Big events are coming in Chicago Fire episode 200. According to One Chicago Center, there’s heavy speculation regarding Matt Casey’s future in Chicago Fire Season 10 Episode 5. Will Matt Casey leave the firehouse completely? According to teaser trailers, he’ll have to make a major decision regarding his future, as he has the opportunity to become legal guardians of two children.
Additionally, fans will see the birth of Joe Cruz’s baby. We can’t wait to see how the newborn impacts Cruz for the remainder of the season.
Chicago Fire cast member Christian Stolte who plays Randy “Mouch” McHolland talked to TV Insider about what’s to come. “[Showrunner] Derek Haas is tuned into the [fact] that the 200th episode should be significant as sort of a landmark episode,” Stolte explained. “There are little callbacks, most of which I can’t give examples because most of them are framed around something that I can’t talk about yet. But I think if you’ve been a longtime viewer of the show, you will notice some details that’ll touch you.”

Kelly Severide actor Taylor Kinney and Christopher Herrmann actor David Eigenberg joined the Today show virtually to talk about Chicago Fire episode 200.
“It’s a milestone of sorts,” Kinney told Today in response to how he feels prior to Chicago Fire Season 10 Episode 5 airing. “We had a get-together for the 100th episode, and then our 200th …. But, for it to air tonight, and have everybody watch — we’re going on 10 years, so it’s really special.”
“And they gave us 200 cupcakes for our 200th episode, and I ate 30 of them,” Eigenberg said.
“But it’s been a real joy to be here,” Eigenberg continued after joking about the 200th episode. “Chicago’s been an amazing city to be in.” Ultimately, he said about the cast, “We hurt, but we love.”
Kinney was then asked why he believes Chicago Fire has lasted so long. “It’s a sense of family,” he answered. “… It’s a testament to the longevity of the show. … We all get along.”

Fans want Kelly Severide to marry Stella Kidd. Does it happen in Chicago Fire episode 200? Unfortunately, showrunner Haas told Entertainment Tonight fans won’t see a wedding on Chicago Fire Season 10 Episode 5.
“We’re not going towards wedding,” Haas explained. “Wedding, I think, is a season sort of thing. But there are going to be huge life-changing and show-changing surprises coming in that 200th episode. So I wouldn’t get out your bridesmaid’s dress or groomsmen tuxedos just yet, but yeah, there are some huge things going on.”
As for what’s to come, Haas said fans should get ready for characters we “haven’t seen since the early days of the show.” And it’s going to get serious. “We have some pretty intense storylines right from the jump that go right into the 200th,” he added.
