Kevin McGarry and Kayla Wallace Star in New Hallmark Movie, ‘Feeling Butterflies’
Hallmark Channel has a special treat for When Calls the Heart fans. Kevin McGarry – aka Mountie Nathan Grant – and Kayla Wallace, who plays Fiona, star in the new movie Feeling Butterflies, which premieres March 12.
‘Feeling Butterflies’ airs March 12 on Hallmark Channel
Feeling Butterflies premieres Saturday, March 12 at 8 p.m. ET on Hallmark Channel. Wallace plays a butterfly expert, appropriately named Emily Mariposa. She runs Butterflies Inc., a business that releases butterflies at weddings and other special events. She meets Garrett Thorson (McGarry), a single dad who hires her for his daughter Amanda’s (Alyssa Gervasi) birthday.
Here’s the rest of the synopsis from Hallmark Channel:
Emily gets the opportunity of a lifetime when a well-known – but demanding – socialite wants to hire her to release 1,500 butterflies at her upcoming wedding. It’s a tall order but if she pulls it off, Emily would get invaluable exposure for her business. She agrees to take it on and Garrett and Amanda happily offer to lend a hand. Emily’s feelings for Garrett grow but his potential move to New York, and the return of his ex-girlfriend, leave her questioning if they have a future together. Meanwhile, a parasite threatens the caterpillars they’re so carefully nurturing for release at the wedding. But with the support of Garrett and Amanda, Feeling Butterflies, Inc. just may take flight … with love in the air.
Kevin McGarry and Kayla Wallace are a couple in real life
McGarry and Wallace don’t just appear together on When Calls the Heart – they’re also a couple in real life. The two have been dating since 2020, according to a report from ET.
Their romance appears to still be going strong. On Valentine’s Day 2022, Wallace shared a video of herself singing on Instagram that ended with McGarry giving her a kiss. In December, she took to social media to share of photo of herself and McGarry on vacation in Mexico.
Kevin McGarry teases what to expect from ‘When Calls the Heart’ Season 9
Aside from his starring role in Feeling Butterflies, McGarry will be making weekly appearances on the Hallmark Channel in When Calls the Heart Season 9. New episodes begin airing March 6, and they’ll see his character in a different place than he was at the end of season 8, when he was reeling from Elizabeth’s rejection.
“Season 9 opens with him in a better place,” McGarry said in an interview with MediaVillage. “I mean, for sure he still cares about Elizabeth. I don’t think that’s ever going to go away, but does it turn into anything later? Who knows? You gotta tune in. There will always be a spot in his heart for Elizabeth, and in the beginning he’s accepting of the situation.”
“He had a very tumultuous season 8,” the actor added. “Of course, there’s gonna be things in season 9 that throw him for a loop. But, as with any good character, and any fun character to play, he learns from his mistakes and might come at them differently than he did two seasons ago.”
