Here we go again. The Kardashian-Jenner sisters have frequently had their appearance scrutinized for signs of plastic surgery, and Khloé Kardashian’s recent Instagram Story post is definitely sparking a fresh round of commentary.
It isn’t the first time that Kardashian’s looks have puzzled fans, but it is definitely a dramatic enough change to have them calling her out for getting a “new face.” What’s the story behind the picture, and will fans ever really know what work Kardashian has or hasn’t gotten done?
Khloé Kardashian’s face has faced scrutiny before
This is not the first time that fans have been convinced that Kardashian must have had work done to dramatically alter the appearance of her face.
Back in 2019, Kardashian posted a photograph that had fans convinced she had gone under the knife. Many fans were worried about what looked like not only a major change in her facial appearance but also in her weight.
“You’ve always been beautiful girl both inside and out, don’t allow society and procedures to change that,” one fan wrote at the time.
“Khloe. You’re a beautiful woman. You don’t need to edit yourself this much. I get it, we all love to touch up a spot here or there, but this is extreme,” another added.
The overall response to the photograph was that Kardashian’s transformation, while not necessarily bad in and of itself, was a sign of some deeper inner insecurity plaguing the reality TV star.

As fans have criticized, picked apart, and worried over Kardashian’s major visual changes to herself, they’ve speculated about whether she has had plastic surgery. Many commenters point to major structural changes to her face that suggests some serious alterations. Kardashian, for her part, responded to these criticisms by saying that she was “scared” of surgery and may one day get a nose job, but she certainly didn’t fess up to one in the meantime. As far as her dramatic weight loss, Kardashian credited a commitment to healthy living and a routine that involved lots of time in the gym.
She did, however, admit to using makeup to change her appearance for photographs, saying that contouring was a major part of her beauty routine. In a makeup tutorial for Vogue, Kardashian specifically focused on using contouring on her nose to make it appear smaller. Perhaps the “new face” was really just an updated cosmetics technique.

The previous discussions about Kardashian’s changed looks had died down, but now they’ve come roaring back as she posted an Instagram Story photograph that definitely looked a lot different. In May, Kardashian posted a photograph that had many fans crying foul.
“There is no way that’s Khloe. That’s beyond photoshopping. She’s an entirely different person!” one fan wrote. “I’m telling you, the Kardashians switch faces like clothes,” another snarkily replied.
While that individual photograph could have been explained with heavy editing, Kardashian’s recent pose alongside her daughter for an Instagram Story post has fans thinking the look is more permanent. She definitely appears much different than she has in the past.
