They welcomed their first born, North West (5), back in June 2013, then their first son, Saint West (3) in December 2015, followed by their daughter, Chicago West (1 this month) in January 2018.
After experiencing placenta accreta during her pregnancies with North and Saint, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West decided to have their third baby via surrogate, as the condition is extremely painful and life-threatening. While they weren’t in a big hurry to have a fourth child, they allegedly had one embryo left over from their first surrogacy and decided to go for four.

According to People, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West were so in love with their third child — and the surrogate they used — that they discussed adding a fourth baby to the mix just days after they welcomed her into the world.
The reality star wasn’t 100% sure in 2018
Despite their alleged eagerness, Kim Kardashian was apparently in no rush back in March 2018. “I dunno, my home, and my heart feel really full right now, in the best way. My time is spread really thin. And I think it’s important that in all couples, the mom gives the husband as much attention as the kids,” she told ELLE Magazine.
North West wanted another baby brother
Apparently, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s eldest child, North West, doesn’t like having siblings as much as they’d hoped. In an interview with Ashley Graham on her podcast, Pretty Big Deal, Kardashian said, “North acts like an only child at all times. I think she’s a little confused. She’s beyond jealousy now. She’s just like, ‘It’s my world.’ She said to me the other day, ‘Mom … we just need to have another baby brother so that Saint can just leave me alone … so the girls can be on this side of the house and the boys can be on that side of the house.’”
They are likely using the same surrogate
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West apparently love surrogacy. And, their first surrogate made such a good impression, they liked asked her to carry their fourth child.
