Kim Kardashian and Beyoncé are huge names in the entertainment industry. And they’re both linked to other high-profile individuals, like Kanye West and Jay-Z. While Kardashian and Beyoncé’s friendship took a turn after West shaded West and Beyoncé in the past, Kardashian and Beyoncé moved past it. In 2024, Kardashian doesn’t appear to have much of a relationship left with West, as the two divorced in 2022.
In 2017, a source told Life & Style that Kardashian and Beyoncé didn’t have a real friendship. Beyoncé allegedly hung out with Kardashian to please Jay-Z. And Kardashian hung out with Beyoncé to “up her cred.”
“The only reason Beyoncé ever gave Kim the time of day was for Jay-Z,” the insider alleged. “A real friendship never materialized.”
The source added that while Beyoncé “respects” Kardashian’s “drive,” she doesn’t necessarily “respect her.”
Jay-Z might’ve wanted Beyoncé to hang out with Kardashian because of Kardashian’s link to West at the time. However, Jay-Z and West entered a feud after West pulled out of his contract with Jay-Z’s music streaming service, Tidal. West allegedly wanted to bring West to court over the feud.
“There’s no salvaging the friendship, so Kanye’s going full force,” the insider continued. “He could reveal secrets about Jay-Z that may not be pretty.”
Beyoncé’s 2024 interview with GQ sent Kim Kardashian ‘over the edge,’ another source claimed
Kim Kardashian allegedly wasn’t a fan of what Beyoncé said during a 2024 interview with GQ. In the interview, Beyoncé explained how she wanted her kids to experience “as much normalcy and privacy as possible, ensuring my personal life isn’t turned into a brand. It’s very easy for celebrities to turn our lives into performance art.”
A source told In Touch Weekly that Kardashian felt like Beyoncé’s “shady comments were clearly directed towards Kim, which has got Kim seriously pissed off, especially because it implies that she’s a bad mother.” Kardashian allegedly was sent “over the edge” by the interview.
The insider added that Kardashian felt “desperate to impress Beyoncé and prove she was worthy of being her friend” for so long. “But she’s been rebuffed by her so many times she’s given up and moved on and is now saying she has no need for her.”

“Seriously, I know you guys don’t believe me — ask Beyoncé!” Kardashian added while laughing with the producers. “I danced all night long at her party; I think I blacked out. I woke up to so many text messages, and I was like, ‘Khloé, what did I do?’ She’s like, ‘You were dropping it low and dancing,’ and I was like, ‘Nooo!’ I danced all night long and had no idea.”
