Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West Are Working to Save Their Marriage
Kim Kardashian West and her husband Kanye West have been going through a rough patch. After Kanye announced that he was running for president, things seemed to spiral out of control for the couple, with Kanye even admitting that he no longer wanted to be with Kim. Now, the two are reportedly working to mend their marriage.
What happened between Kim and Kanye?
After holding a rally in which he cried while admitting that he almost had his oldest daughter North aborted, Kanye took to Twitter to accuse his wife of trying to lock him up.
“Kim tried to bring a doctor to lock me up with a doctor,” he wrote in a now-deleted tweet. “If I get locked up like Mandela… Ya’ll will know why.”
“Kriss don’t play with me,” he wrote later. “You and that Calmye are not allowed around my children. Ya’ll tried to lock me up.”
He even alleged that the horror film Get Out was about him.
“Kim was trying to fly to Wyoming with a doctor to lock me up like on the movie ‘Get Out’ because I cried about saving my daughter’s life yesterday,” he wrote.
During the Twitter storm, Kanye revealed that he had been trying to leave Kim for a while.
“I been trying to get divorced since Kim met with Meek at the [Waldorf] for prison reform,” he said. That tweet has since been deleted.
Kim and Kanye are working on things
Less than a week after Kanye made the disparaging comments about his wife, Kim was photographed crying with him in the car.
Now, they are reportedly trying to work on their marriage.
“Kim and Kanye have put a lot on hold professionally to be together with their family,” a source told Entertainment Tonight. “They spent time out of the country together and are back in the States continuing their vacation. Kim and Kanye love one another and want to work on saving their marriage.”
They are both taking time off to focus on one another and their kids.
“The couple has had time to spend with their kids as well as discuss their future and what that looks like without anyone else getting involved,” the source said. “They need time off the grid until they have things figured out.”
Kim defends Kanye
When Kanye was firing off tweets about Kim and the Kardashians, the SKIMS founder took to Instagram to explain the situation.
“Those that understand mental illness or even compulsive behavior know that the family is powerless unless the member is a minor,” she wrote. “People who are unaware or far removed from this experience can be judgmental and not understand that the individual themselves have to engage in the process of getting help no matter how hard family and friends try.
“Those who are close with Kanye know his heart and understand his words sometimes do not align with his intentions,” she wrote. “Living with bi-polar disorder does not diminish or invalidate his dreams and creative ideas, no matter how big or unobtainable they may feel to some. That is part of his genius and as we have all witnessed, many of his big dreams have come true.”
She closed by asking that people show empathy to Kanye and their situation.
