Kim Kardashian West Debuts Fiery Red Hair and Fans Don’t Know How to Feel About It
Kim Kardashian West will forever be known for her signature dark hair, but she has played around with different hairstyles a little bit since entering the public eye.
Over the years, we’ve seen her rock everything from long pink hair and platinum silver bobs to high ponytails and Fulani braids. She switched things up again in late June, dyeing her hair a bright, bold red that prompted mixed reactions on social media.

Kardashian West debuted her new hairdo on Monday, June 29, in a string of posts posted to her Instagram Story. She posted a video where her hair was pulled into a sleek ponytail with two strands at the hairline out before sharing another clip where her hair was tied into a bun with the same strands hanging out. “You guys I dyed my hair red,” she said while modeling her new hairstyle. “Do you love it?”
Kardashian West’s hairstylist Chris Appleton also offered up photos of her new look on his Instagram page, noting, “It’s NOT a wig before you start with that sh*t.” He later talked more about her transformation to People, explaining that the reality star decided to go for something new after wearing nothing but dark hair during the coronavirus quarantine.
“Kim is a trendsetter and not afraid of doing something new. We have done the blonde and the pink before and red was unexpected. I love that about Kim,” Appleton said.
Reactions to Kim Kardashian’s red hair
Once fans saw her transformation, they took to comment sections across social media to share their thoughts. Many of them adored the hairstyle and gushed over how good she looks with it.
“This shade of red compliments her SO WELL 😱 amazing job as usual,” one fan wrote in the comment section of Appleton’s post.
“I was always thinking she should go red she’d rock it with her skin tone,” another person said while a third fan added: “Never thought I see the day where Kim’s a redhead, can’t believe you did red without making it look trashy.”
Fans have also criticized Kim Kardashian West’s new hairstyle
While many people adore the look, others don’t know if it’s a good fit.
“As a red head. I do not approve,” read a message shared to Twitter.
Another critic directly mentioned the reality star, saying, “red hair dont go with you… truthfully make you look older.” A third fan also chimed in and said they would give the hairstyle a hard pass.
If we had to vote, we’d say it looks pretty good, but it seems that Kardashian West might have already changed her hair. She posted an Instagram photo on July 1 with her nephew Reign where she’s seen with her naturally dark locks.
Well, it was good while it lasted.
