Kim Kardashian West Once Revealed the Photos She Took When Khloé Kardashian Was Headed to Jail
If you’ve been keeping up with the Kardashians since they emerged in 2007, you’ve witnessed some pretty iconic things. There are moments that even stand out today — like a 2009 episode when Khloé Kardashian had to serve time in jail.
Fans will recall that Kim Kardashian West was famously more focused on snapping flicks with her camera, prompting Kris Jenner to deliver one of the most memorable lines in KUWTK history.
Years later, Kardashian West reflected on the incident and revealed the photos she took from that legendary moment. Let’s recap below.
Khloé Kardashian’s legal troubles
Kardashian’s stint in jail stemmed from a March 2007 arrest for driving under the influence. People reports that the Good American co-founder was initially only given three years probation for her DUI. But after she failed to “complete [roadside cleanup duty] and enroll in an alcohol education class,” she was ordered to spend 30 days in jail.
On July 18, 2008, Kardashian went to turn herself into the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood, California. She was joined by the Kardashian sisters and Jenner. But rather than being supportive and encouraging, Kardashian West started taking pictures of herself.
“Kim, would you stop taking pictures of yourself?” Jenner barked. “Your sister’s going to jail.”
Fortunately for Kardashian, she wound up spending only a few hours in jail. She was released later in the day due to overcrowding.

In 2015, Kardashian West tweeted: “I just found all of the selfies I took while driving @khloekardashian to jail!!!!! Do u remember that episode!!!!”
She didn’t release them at the time but the following year, she took to her now-shuttered website and posted a few photos from the moment. She wrote (via Grazia): “I recently found the selfies from years ago when Khloé went to jail! Had to share them with you guys because they are SO funny and I still can’t believe this happened. Good thing I took some selfies to document the moment when we went to bail her out LOL! Love you, Khloé!!!”

Khloé turned her life around after jail
After being released from jail, Kardashian did an interview with Tyra Banks and revealed how eye-opening of an experience it was.
“I have to go to the hospital and see injured people who were either a drunk driver themselves or were hurt by someone,” she said (via Us Weekly). “What I could have done is just unthinkable. I will never, ever do that again.”
She went on to launch her denim line, Good American, and started a family with NBA star Tristan Thompson. But she hasn’t been able to fully escape her past. Us Weekly reports that Jenner and Kardashian West both keep photos of Kardashian’s mugshot in their houses.
