Kim Kardashian’s Divorce and Pete Davidson Relationship Documented for ‘The Kardashians’, Reality Star Confirms
More information is coming out about The Kardashians, the upcoming Hulu series following the Kardashian-Jenners.
Arriving just under a year after the end of their E! series Keeping Up With the Kardashians, the new show puts the light back on the family “to reveal the truth behind the headlines.” “From the intense pressures of running billion-dollar businesses to the hilarious joys of playtime and school drop-offs, this series brings viewers into the fold with a rivetingly honest story of love & life in the spotlight,” reads a quote from the Hulu synopsis.
That also means viewers will get to see aspects of Kim Kardashian’s divorce and her growing relationship with Pete Davidson on the show.
Kim Kardashian on their upcoming Hulu show
The Kardashian-Jenners discussed the show in a newly-published interview with Variety. The report mentions that it’ll run for 40 episodes across two seasons and will be filmed “documentary style, with scene openers shot overhead with drones.”
They seem to have stayed true to the promise they made in the Keeping Up days to film everything because sensitive issues such as Kim’s divorce and current love life will all be featured on the show.
However, don’t expect to see her in scenes with Davidson, the Saturday Night Live funnyman Kardashian started dating after hosting the show in October of 2021. “I have not filmed with him,” she clarified. “And I’m not opposed to it. It’s just not what he does. But if there was an event happening and he was there, he wouldn’t tell the cameras to get away. I think I might film something really exciting coming, but it wouldn’t be for this season.”
She added that the show would dive in to “how we met and who reached out to who and how it happened and all the details everyone wants to know. I’m definitely open to talking, and I definitely explain it.”
Kanye West to appear in the show
Kardashian also noted that viewers will see scenes with West, beginning in the first episode. The clips were shot when the two were in a better space, but even now, Kardashian said she doesn’t think she’d ever talk down on him on television.
“Being in the public eye and having disagreements publicly is never easy. But I do believe in handling it all privately,” she said. “I believe in championing publicly and criticizing privately. I don’t think I would ever criticize the father of my children on my TV show. That’s just not really what I’m about, and I just don’t think that would ever make me feel good.”
“I’m always really respectful of what the kids will see,” she continued, referring to their four children: North, 8, Saint, 6, Chicago, 4, and Psalm, 2. “The reality is, we’re always a family. We always will have a love and respect for each other. And even if there’s moments where it might not seem like that, there are so many moments that are super positive. I do think it’s important for people to see things aren’t perfect all the time, but that they can get better.”
‘The Kardashians’ will begin streaming in April
Those interested in watching the show can catch it on April 14. The show will release new episodes weekly on Thursdays.
The Kardashians also have the option to produce other shows under their Hulu deal, but it is unclear whether there are any other projects in the works. Stay tuned to Showbiz Cheat Sheet for updates.
