Kim Kardashian’s Ex-Husband Damon Thomas Refutes Her Claim That She Was On Ecstasy When They Got Married
Before Kim Kardashian became famous, she had one marriage. In 2000, Kardashian married music producer Damon Thomas when she was 19 and he was 29. The couple divorced in 2004.
Kardashian has since claimed that she was high on ecstasy when she and Thomas eloped. However, Thomas recently refuted this claim.
What Kim Kardashian has said about her marriage to Damon Thomas
Kardashian has not spoken much about her first marriage. However, the things she has shared do not paint Thomas in a positive light.
According to The Sun, Kardashian has claimed on Keeping Up With the Kardashians that Thomas was controlling, describing him as “the king of the castle.” She also said that he told her to quit school and paid for her to get plastic surgery.
“Damon told me not to leave the house unless I first told him when and where I was going,” she said. “If Damon were not home, I was required to call him and ask permission to leave the house. For example, he would not allow me to go to the mall alone, or with friends. He told me that he did not want men to have an opportunity to hit on me.”
In their divorce papers, Kardashian claimed he was abusive.
Additionally, Kardashian also said she was high on ecstasy when she and Thomas eloped. “I did ecstasy once and I got married,” she revealed on the show. Kardashian added, “I did it again. I made a sex tape.”
Damon Thomas refutes claim that Kim Kardashian was on ecstasy when they married
Thomas recently had an interview with Vlad TV in which he commented on Kardashian’s claim of being on ecstasy when they married.
“Yeah, I don’t remember that at all,” he said. “I think it’s unfair to make those kinds of blanket statements because we have kids now, you know? I have children. My kid goes to the same school her kid goes to. So imagine him when he has to deal with that at school. I think she should be more responsible with those statements.”
He added, “I can go into that and blow up the spot, but I wouldn’t. And I’ve been very responsible in not talking about what that marriage was or what it meant to me. Because it happened in the past, you can try to sweep it under the rug, but you don’t stay married to somebody or be with somebody for four to five years and it’s just based off you getting high off of ecstasy, you know what I mean? That doesn’t make any sense at all.”
Damon Thomas once called Kim Kardashian a ‘fame whore’
In a 2010 article from NY Daily News, Thomas also refuted Kardashian’s claim that he was abusive to her. According to Thomas, Kardashian has been trying to seek fame and would do anything to get it.
“Kim is obsessed with fame,” he said. “She can’t write or sing or dance, so she does harmful things in order to validate herself in the media. That’s a fame-whore to me. It’s just not cool at all.”
