King Charles’ Former Staff Member Calls for Peace Talks Between Charles and Harry — But Others Warn the King of Its Dangers
Prince Harry and his father, King Charles, have certainly had a tumultuous relationship in recent years. Ultimately, there is still love there, but it seems that Harry and Charles just can’t get to a point where they can fully reconcile.
Now, some royal experts are calling for the father and son — and the public — to put the royal rift behind them, while others warn the king of the potential dangers that could come with letting Harry back in with open arms.
Some want King Charles and Prince Harry to reconcile
Nobody should enjoy watching a family feud unfold. Most people, despite likely picking a side through the years between Harry and William, do want to see the royals as one big happy family again. However, so much has gone on through the years that some think a reconciliation would be nothing more than a headache.
But according to Jack Stokes, the royal family’s former gardener, it does Harry and his father no good to not have a close connection. “I just feel that now is the time to just go,” Stokes said of Charles and Harry reconciling. “Do you know what? What is the point? Why? Why are we all hating on Harry?” Stokes told GB News. He continued to defend Harry, not necessarily because he agrees with Harry’s decision to open up about the royals but rather because it isn’t something we should hold against him forever. “He had a family rift. Yes. We’ve all had family rift in our time. We’ve all done and said things to our parents, our siblings that we regret later on.”
One royal expert warns of the royal family’s loss of ‘dignity’ with a Harry reconciliation
Although the former staffer feels it’s time to move on from the rift, royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams says it’s not as “simple” as forgiving and forgetting.
“I wish it was as simple as Jack says, because it simply isn’t,” Fitzwilliams told GB News. “Firstly, as the monarchy needs a certain amount of dignity, it’s a pivotal part of our unwritten constitution.” He also added, “They’ve monetized the rift with the royal family, and also they’ve harmed the royal family.”
At this point, it’s hard to say whether there is a true chance for reconciliation, but the whole ordeal does feel like it’s getting a bit old. Both King Charles and Prince William publicly sent Harry 40th birthday wishes, so it seems that has to be a step in the right direction, although every time people get excited for a reconciliation, it doesn’t happen.
