King Charles Ignores Public Pressure to Protect Kate; ‘Nobody Really Knows How She’s Doing’
After months away from the royal spotlight, the Princess of Wales (formerly known as Kate Middleton) made her first public appearance since revealing her cancer diagnosis at this year’s Trooping the Colour. When she announced she would be attending the event, Prince William’s wife acknowledged that she’s “not out of the woods yet.”
“My treatment is ongoing and will be for a few more months.” Kate wrote in a post on Instagram. “On the days I feel well enough, it is a joy to engage with school life, spend personal time on the things that give me energy and positivity, as well as starting to do a little work from home. I’m looking forward to attending the king’s birthday parade … and hope to join a few public engagements over the summer, but equally knowing I am not out of the woods yet.”
Many are now hoping for more updates on Kate’s health in the coming weeks and months, but a royal expert says that’s not happening because King Charles has already “closed the door” on having his daughter-in-law make any new announcements.
King Charles won’t budge on more information about Kate’s health
For royal watchers everywhere who thought there might be some more updates on how the Princess of Wales is doing following her Trooping the Colour appearance, royal expert Ian Pelham Turner said the Palace won’t be giving them. He claimed that the family is going to remain “tight-lipped” about Kate’s treatment and how she is progressing to protect her.
“The reality is nobody really knows how Kate is,” Turner told Fox News Digital. “There are many whispers by those who wish to further their careers. But in reality, when the royal family wishes to close the doors on the world, they have had centuries of practice in the art.”
He added that the princess is the royal family’s best asset and therefore, the king will make sure they do everything now to protect her privacy.
“Kate has been stated by the global press as the royal family’s jewel in the crown,” Turner noted. “She [is seen as] the No. 1 royal … stabilizing the monarchy’s future.”
The princess’s last appearance was viewed as a positive sign for her recovery
Turner is correct that no one knows for sure how Kate is doing, but some saw the princess’s last appearance as a positive sign.
British broadcaster and photographer Helena Chard thinks that Kate has turned a corner with her treatment after seeing her on the balcony with the rest of the working royals during King Charles’ birthday parade.
Chard opined that the princess “has a renewed zest for life. She is thankful for the public’s love, which has given her a huge boost. She was so happy to be able to support her family and be back on duty in a united force. Duty and service are very important to her, and she carried out her service with courage, dignity, and strength. Cancer brings people closer together. The whole royal family looked united and stronger than ever on that Buckingham Palace balcony during Trooping the Colour.”
