When it was announced early in the year that the Princess of Wales (formerly known as Kate Middleton) was recovering from abdominal surgery and would be taking an extended break from royal duties, speculation and wild rumors began to surface on the internet. The longer she wasn’t seen in public, the worse things got as sheer panic spread across Britain and stories about Kate’s health and well-being made headlines around the world.

The “never complain, never explain” royals had to ditch their mantra and realize that in the age of social media, the only way to stop outrageous and often vicious rumors was for the princess to debunk them herself. Kate did just that in March when she shocked everyone by revealing her cancer diagnosis. In her video message, the princess asked for time and privacy as she continues to recover and undergo preventive chemotherapy.

Now, as the summer winds down, members of the royal family are going to travel to Balmoral Castle in Scotland for their private annual summer vacation and many of them will not be seen in public for quite some time. Therefore, King Charles has imposed a rule before everyone gets there so Kate isn’t subjected to any more outrageous rumors as she may not be seen for months again.

Expert says trip to Balmoral is a very good thing for Kate

Royal biographer and commentator Angela Levin spoke to GB News about the princess making the trip to Balmoral with the extended royal family this year and believes that is a very positive thing for Kate amid her cancer battle.

The author explained: “[Kate] is going to Scotland to be with the family. This is a huge move. Not only because she is obviously not well yet, but it shows she feels very comfortable with the royal family.

“She is very happy with the king and the queen and she knows they will understand if she has to rest. She can say what she likes and be warmed. I think it’s wonderful she can do that. The children will be delighted also.”

The ban King Charles is imposing on all Balmoral guests for Kate’s sake

In addition to the Waleses, the Ebinburghs, the Tindalls, Peter Phillips and his ex-wife Autumn Kelly, Queen Camilla’s grandchildren will also be joining the family at the royal estate. With so many people there, including quite a few teenagers, the monarch has enacted a ban that a lot of the young guests won’t be happy about.

According to Express, an extremely well-placed source said: “Social media posts and photos from family events are to be avoided. It’s a private family holiday and due to extended members of the family joining this year, they are trying to keep everything as private as possible. There are a lot of teenagers in attendance and there would be nothing worse than seeing a photo of King Charles trying to force a potato into his mouth on social media.”

But it isn’t a total ban over of just embarassing photos getting leaked, it’s also reportedly so the Princess of Wales doesn’t have to worry about photos of her getting out while she is at the rescidence trying to relax and recover.

The publication noted that “Kate Middleton’s unofficial images being leaked to the media can serve as a minefield for King Charles as they wish to hide her from the public eye these days … Official social media accounts are a different story because those photographs are approved by the communications team before being uploaded.”
