King Charles Sends Subtle ‘Message’ to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle After They Purchase Portugal Home
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are heading back to Europe. Well, for vacations, at least. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex recently made a surprise purchase — they bought a home in Portugal. Of course, there are already rumors swirling as to why Harry and Meghan chose Portugal for their first vacation home, but people have also been paying close attention to the royals’ reactions. And one expert believes King Charles is sending a subtle message to his son.
King Charles’ royal tour suggests he doesn’t care that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle bought a home
King Charles does have a relationship with his younger son, but he and Harry haven’t been close in years. When Charles was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year, Harry flew to the United Kingdom to spend time with his father. Still, since then, Harry and Charles have not seen each other in person.
Now, Harry and Meghan have surprised everyone by reportedly purchasing a vacation home in Portugal. The Sussexes have two kids, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, and while they won’t return to the UK for security reasons, Portugal is apparently not a security threat.
King Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles just landed in Australia to begin a six-day royal tour, and their business-as-usual attitude is sending a message to Harry and Meghan: They don’t care what the Sussexes do. “The King’s got a lot of things to get on with,” royal expert Hugo Vickers told The Sun. “Apart from getting well, he’s got his big tour to Australia.”
Vickers continued, “He’s got all the things that kings have to do, and I suspect the message we’re getting is that Harry just needs to sort himself out … I mean, the King’s not going to waste much time concerning himself with his [Harry’s] issues.”
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle haven’t revealed why they purchased the home
Although Harry and Meghan haven’t said their reason for purchasing the home, it’s possible that they just want somewhere nice to take the kids and plant some new roots back in Europe.
Harry and Meghan’s home purchase does contradict one opinion that haters have had for a while: The idea that Harry and Meghan have a money problem. Although we don’t have details on the new home, it’ safe to say that Harry and Meghan do not, in fact, have financial issues, considering they wouldn’t have been able to purchase a presumably nice home in Portugal if they did. Perhaps more details about the purchase will unfold in time.
